Amy Maltman began riding at the age of 9 and competing at the age of 11. After graduating from the University of Guelph in 1997, she worked as a live-in groom for three-time Olympic medalist Eric Lamaze. Now a disabled pharmacist with a rare spinal cord disorder (syringomyelia), she is no longer able to ride. Her passion for the sport, however, has not dimmed. A passionate animal lover, she lives with her pets in Ontario, Canada.
