Bipolar Disorder :Am I Bipolar ? How Bipolar Quiz & Tests Reveal The Answers - Heather Rose

Introduction

Up until a few years ago the mental illness that we now know as Bipolar Disorder was more commonly called manic depressive disorder or manic depression. It is considered to be one of the most serious mental illnesses that a person can suffer from as it can lead to them taking risks that they wouldn’t normally take. If bipolar disorder is left untreated not only can it do damage to the sufferers relationships with others as well as their career, it could also lead to them suffering from suicidal tendencies.

The most common characteristics of someone suffering from this disorder is that there are great fluctuations in their moods. One minute they can be feeling extremely happy (euphoric) and the next they can be feeling extremely sad (depressed). However there may be occasions between these episodes that the sufferer may experience more normal feelings (moods).

However as the pattern of highs and lows felt do vary from one person to another being able to diagnose it correctly can prove difficult because it is in fact a very complex illness. The reason for why it can prove difficult to diagnose whether a person is suffering from this disorder or not is because there are such a wide range of symptoms that people can suffer from. It is for this reason that tests have now been developed that help doctors to better understand what their patients are going through and whether they are in fact suffering from bipolar disorder or some other medical condition where the symptoms showing are very similar.
