      Yuknavitch is a master at challenging the notion of the linear narrative as a standard. Her stark, poetic prose often leaves the reader feeling the the corporeal weight of novel deep in the body, before the brain catches up. What a rare and wonderful feeling, that is normally reserved for poetry and music. Elemental!
