    1. Introduction

    Making money with mobile apps is a challenge. One can spend several thousands developing an app and when it is finally in the appstore, it becomes a flop. That is, the app does not generate the money that was anticipated. This can be for a variety of reasons. If your marketing campaigns for the app is great and the app is getting downloads, the next thing is to make sure that you make money from those who downloaded your app.

    Now there are those who are making money with their apps but majority are making little or no money. The 14 ways of making money with mobile apps discussed in this report will enable you to develop various ways of making money from your apps.

    In 2014, smartphones are projected to outnumber desktop computers. This provides a huge market for mobile app developers. The mobile app industry is still a developing industry and therefore opportunities to make money in it still abound. Developing an app is not the problem. The biggest challenge is making money from the mobile app. There are two different ways that you can develop a mobile app: develop it yourself or outsource. Doing it yourself is further divided into two: use a do it yourself mobile app builder or code it in the native app’s program (Objective C, Java, etc). All these money making ways can be implemented if you are  developing the app yourself or have outsourced its development.

    The following are the 14 ways of making money with apps. This is in no particular order so number one does not mean it’s the first one to start implementing:

    2.1. Development cost

    Money is made here when you charge businesses, organizations and individuals to develop mobile apps for them. What you charge depends on the client and the complexity of the requested app. The more valuable the client the more they will pay. For instance, you can charge a premium price for a law firm than for a local small business because law firms make more money and are very image conscious.
