About this ebook
Awakening is a collection of some of my thoughts when I first discovered the poet/writer within. As the words danced from my head to the pen, I fell in love with the magic.

I am definitely a poet in my own right but I haven’t always believed this or felt this way. I would like to say that I just stumbled onto my floetic ability but that would not be the truth. I truly believe that I walked into something of Divine creation. I was stuck in yet another one of my ruff seasons . I was living in the results of a lot of decisions that I made. I was frustrated. I was angry and I was tired. I felt like I was just going through the motions; doing a bounce of nothing; wishing, hoping and praying that some how it would equal up to something. At that present time, I had developed a friendship with what I call, a mufti talented, uniquely gifted women. On a lot of days, in spite of our very present situations, we would sit on the couch and just have long heart to heart sessions. We talked about our past and how we wished we had did things differently . During these sessions, I discovered the true nature of my friends ability as she revealed the details of her life. I began to feel an even greater connection between us once I walked through her life ; through her words. My friend is a poet with an amazing ability to put a picture into words. That’s where it all started for me. She said that I had that same ability; that I was a poet too. She encouraged me to give it a try. At first, I played around with this poetry thing. Then one day, I got up and just felt the urge to write and that’s what I did. I starting painting pictures with words. It ways like magic. I started rhyming in my head, while I was walking and even while I was talking. I actually had full length life illustrations developing in my mind. I starting sleeping with a pen and paper on my night stand to caught the concepts that jumped into my head. I never really know exactly what I’m going to write about. It just pops up in my head and takes over and before you know it, I ‘m writing yet another one. That’s why I said, this is not an accident or a coincidence. It is truly GOD who gets this credit. I am not capable of this flow. This is truly the most fulfilling, refreshingly vibrant quest that I’ve ever encountered. Not only am I writing, I’m exploring and developing. I had to take a step back , rewind, open the door , and come front & center with my truth. “TO THY SELF BE TRUE”

AWAKENING
As I awake
my soul partakes with bounds
cause no one’s around
destiny lurks at the scene
it can all be redeemed
once thought lost can now begin again
a knock at the door
as destiny comes in
in to see what lies beyond this point
as it wakes up every fiber & every joint with such a point
how can I deny what flows so freely in me?
content with possibility
AWAKE MY DEAR CHILD AND SEE YOUR LIFE BEGIN WITH NO VIEW OF AN END
AWAKE MY DEAR CHILD
AWAKE!
LOST IT
I
Lost it
for a minute
I
not you
but me
was caught up for a second
quit a long
second
yeah
a good long minute
I was stuck in it
couldn’t penetrate
couldn’t break free
from the yes yes yes
the pulsation in my breast
the sting of the stung
the hunger of what’s yet to cum
my owe and my awwww
the pinch from the claw
the release from my bra
the curl in my back
the tinkle in my spin
the upward thrust of my behind
from the thought of this kind
fingering my lines
I damn near lost my mind
I was shook
I was stuck
eye hustling
got me tussling
with this new found heat
this pounding flesh above my feet
DRAINING ATTENTION FROM the pulsating meat
that I feel
from the intense sense of my mate
soon to quench
soon to relate
to escalate
to penetrate
my femininity of my me
against
the masculinity of his he
I’m gone
I’m stuck
I’m shook
gotta shake this off
gotta pull it together
put things back in order
get some water
wet my face
change the pace
relinquish the grip of this place
but it’s too late
he can sense the stain
growing in between my brain
with the quickness
he draws me in
with the word string of his song
the tone of his bass
I remember
as I sing along
the feel of AWWWW IS laced across his face
with the FINGERS OF sensation
we soon embrace
I give up
I’m in it
I’m totally lost
at what ever cost
you win
you’re the boss
I’m lost
in
the
anguish of your language
I love you
you are truly my poet
and
I think you know it!!!!!!!
‘NEVER HAPPENED"
I would dare not mistake a minute of my time
that could possibly resemble anything that would add or take way from what you wish to believe about the way we came to be
but I will interrupt the element of your current desire to redirect you back to the firing tornados you left spinning in my life
My eyes refuse to focus beyond the limitations that gather and parade my sight
the fire that burns in my belly from the sound of your words that still pierce my soul
as I try to run beyond the remembrance of the flame dance you play with my
