INTRODUCTION
Team Associated designs offroad buggies, trucks, monster trucks, and onroad and oval cars. This glossary covers terms related these types of vehicles. Thus, we don’t cover terms related to RC planes, helicopters, boats, dragsters, rock crawlers, or motorcycles.
We chose to word many of these entries to make them applicable even to RC vehicles not designed by Team Associated. Nevertheless, we favored our own vehicles because we are most familiar with their features.
You'll find very few glossary terms for vehicle parts. Your instruction manual already gives the names of those parts. Many terms in this glossary cover track and setup terminology, which will be welcome for those new to racing!
We’ve done our best to present the correct definition for a given term. Nevertheless, if you believe an entry is in error, please notify us right away so we can check it and correct it for the next revision, if necessary. Email to service@aeteam.net with Subject line of RC Glossary Correction.
(We cannot guarantee to change our glossary over your submission.)
This glossary does not pretend to be finished. Many more terms can be added. The RC world is constantly changing. Technology keeps advancing. We welcome comments oabout what other terms should be included in the app for upgrades. Email to service@aeteam.net with Subject line of RC Glossary Additions.
We cannot guarantee to include any suggestions we receive. Any submissions we receive regarding this RC Glossary become the property of Associated Electrics, Inc. (Team Associated), and might be used or discarded without reimbursement to the person who submitted the information.

Acceleration
An increasing rate of RPMs of the motor or engine, causing the vehicle’s speed to increase over a period of time. Overall rate of acceleration is determined by gearing. (See also TOP SPEED.)
Ackermann
Ackermann is a term describing the effect of the inside front wheel turning tighter than the outside front wheel. More Ackermann means the inside wheel is turning in a tighter arc.
Air (slang)

(See MAIN.)
Anti-dive (onroad)
Anti-dive refers to the front arm angle when viewed from the side. (You can change the anti-dive on the TC6 by changing the arm mounts at the front or rear of the front arm.) Adding anti-dive reduces weight transfer to the front on deceleration entering corners. It also reduces caster at the wheel. The dive
refers to the tendency of the front end to dive, or lower, when braking.
Anti-roll bar, Sway Bar
Anti-roll bars are used to stabilize a vehicle from excessive chassis roll (such as when a buggy leans through the turns by centrifugal force).
On a high-traction surface, a vehicle not using anti-roll bars will tend to have a lot of chassis roll, which results in the vehicle being less responsive.
Adding anti-roll bars (or making them thicker if you already have them on) will help minimize the chassis roll, making the vehicle more responsive in cornering, and at the same time making it more stable.
Anti-roll bars can also help balance the pressure between the front and rear. If your car is oversteering, consider adding a front anti-roll bar only (or making the front bar thicker than the rear). If your car is understeering, consider adding a rear anti-roll bar only (or making the rear bar thicker than the
