About this ebook

This is a mother's very personal journal for her family to understand her strengths and weaknesses, and theirs. Written by Ruth Carrol Gagne` Chan at the age of 75, she created one home-printed color copy in a 3-inch binder for each of her children in 2009. She later gave permission to her daughter, Carma, to publish her memoirs online for suicide prevention and to help stop the stigma of depression and medications.

Relatives of Joseph Albert Gagne` and Dorothy Sylvia Tietjen are welcome to contact the author via rcchan801 at gmail.

All royalties are used to help the author's autistic great-granddaughter.

Ruth Chan

Ruth Carrol Gagne` Chan was born in Utah in 1934 to parents Joseph Albert Gagne` and Dorothy Sylvia Tiejen. She was married to John Wang Leong Chan 1966 to 2001 and is now a widow living in a senior community. She gave birth to eight children, has 37 grandchildren, and too many great-grandchildren to keep track of! Her firstborn was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 1969. She lost her mother, sister and three uncles to suicide, and survived two personal attempts to end her life in 1963 and 1981. Two of her grandchildren have committed suicide.
