About this ebook

The last few Republican campaigns for president stirred up issues thought forgotten. Americans spend over $700 million a year on a dysfunctional Congress that gets paid whether or not it does its job. World changes have Americans worried about the US economic future, terrorism and the planet. But, there is a general consensus that Americans are disillusioned as they join the madness created by the candidates as well as media hype and poor reporting. Trump said we need to take America back. Sanders said we need a revolution. Find out how they are both right but in the wrong way.

In hindsight the United Kingdom (UK) uninformed voters that were angry with outsiders wanted a do-over on their June 23, 2016 vote to leave the European Union (EU, began after WW II). Trump said: "Basically, they took back their country, that's a great thing". However, within 24 hours, the world market lost $2.1 trillion; $830 billion in the US with 401Ks losing an average of $3,305. Putin was pleased with the vote as it weakened the sanctions the EU placed on Russia. Trump's limited view of world finances is probably due to his four do-overs (1991-2009) in 18 years caused by filing bankruptcy on the backs of Americans. The US market did bounce back in three weeks while the UK's continued to falter. In response to the June 28 Turkey Ataturk Airport attack by Russian and former Soviets, Trump said: "...We better get smart and we better get tough or we're not gonna have much of a country left". The July 14 Lone Wolf attack on Nice, France (it was not ISIS as it took two days to say he was one of their soldiers) brought the same kind of response. The National Rifle Association (NRA), a Trump supporter, put out an ad to throw us off the real US problem; it indicated the four deaths in Benghazi are more important than the tens of thousands of citizens killed annually on US soil by Americans. We do not have the same situations as the EU and cannot afford Trump's mistakes as they would jeopardize our economy as well as our standing in the world.

'911 Emergency, the US Election' provides a summary of the information in 'Seeking the Political Truth' along with the latest information on why the average citizen should be angry with Congress and the presidential candidates. It gives readers the opportunity to learn the untruths told by the political false prophets for the past 30 years. It shows that smear campaigns fabricate stories to divert blame to the few willing to fight for the majority. It is time for Americans to use common sense deduction instead of hype or bigotry to vote the dysfunctional Congress out and remind politicians that they work for the people, not the NRA or anyone else.

EJ Thomas

E. J. Thomas grew up in a Massachusetts low income project and was raised in a large Catholic family. She joined the US Air Force, went on to work for the State of California and upon retirement, moved to New Mexico. EJ's experience allowed her to work with large and small groups of people of varied religions and cultures. Her understanding of people came with being an employee as well as a manager dealing with union issues. Like most working people with a family, she did not have the opportunity to research information prior to voting so her decisions were based on gut feelings. With the presidential campaign of 2011/12, she began fact checking what was said in the media, on talk shows and in debates. Taking the same approach as she did while working, EJ researched US history, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and more. The honesty of the candidates as well as the interpretation of the various documents was considered. The information was weighed and counterweighed before a reasonable conclusion on who to vote for was made. As a second generation American, EJ strongly feels that the principles and values of the Constitution should be the driving force behind the candidate for which she votes.

911 Emergency the US Election - EJ Thomas

    Chapter One

Trump - Suck It Up/Get Over It

The Republicans (GOP) created a monster in 2007/08 when Arizona (AZ) Senator John McCain was running for president. Donald Trump's Barack Obama birth certificate movement fueled discrimination and the Tea Party joined the GOP which further encouraged hate for one another. Some within the GOP began treating women like cattle because of their conservative views and others made not increasing taxes on the rich a primary focus of their efforts - this led to a dysfunctional Congress. (In 2015, Trump brought up the birth issue with GOP candidate Ted Cruz which told me he had learned nothing about the Constitution in 8 years.)

The 2011/12 campaign was the start of the ugly GOP road to a nominee; they fully accepted and praised Trump. Those in Congress continued with the Norquist anti-tax issue that began in the 1980s with Ronald Reagan as they forget that Jesus (Mark 12:15-17 and Matthew 22:17-21) said: Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s and unto God the things that are God’s. Body shaming of women began to rise as well as more Americans exhibiting racism. In 2014, many voters did not turn out (could have been partly caused by  GOP states changing laws to make it harder for minorities to vote) and the GOP radicals gained ground. This ultimately led to Speaker John Boehner resigning in 2015 due to what he called 'false prophets' within the GOP.

With Trump's 2015/16 campaign, the GOP accused Bill Clinton of convincing him to run. He started, and continued on, with many proposals that outraged some Americans and world leaders. Trump insulted every human except for the unruly (is supported by the Klu Klux Klan and White Supremacists). He at one point in his campaign thought he could stand in New York City (NYC) and get away with murder. Although the GOP were against him, the media gave Trump so much free publicity that he gained ground and became the presumptive nominee. Trump said he did not need the GOP hierarchy (ranking party officials like Paul Ryan, Lindsey Graham, Mitt Romney and others) but began mellowing out and changing his mind about some proposals he had made - said he is not the president and they were just suggestions. His new suggestion for trade appeared closer to that of Bernie Sanders (Democratic Socialist) even though he plans on continuing to get his company products from overseas, including Mexico.

People say they are voting for Trump because he is not part of the political establishment and is a good businessman. Trump was given control of his father's business in 1971 and renamed it The Trump Organization. In 1973, he was accused of violating the Fair Housing Act; charges were settled in 1975. Trump got the business and inherited $40 million from his father. He never gave up his personal wealth when his corporations filed bankruptcy in: 1991 - gave up ownership of the Taj Mahal but kept the property, 1992 - gave up the NY Plaza Hotel and kept the casinos, 2004 - gave up the majority interest in his Hotel and Casino Resorts to bondholders but remained its largest shareholder and in 2009 - he resigned from the board of Entertainment Resorts and gave up the casinos (they filed for bankruptcy again in 2014 and he filed a lawsuit to have his name removed). Because of poor laws, Trump kept millions of dollars each time while workers did not get paid and this should be unacceptable (some countries require personal wealth and property be given up so you could end up homeless).

Trump's legal battles have continued for 43 years with the latest being Trump University that formally launched as a limited liability company (LLC) on May 23, 2005; Trump owned 93%. (The first LL law was enacted in 1811 NY; the world followed our lead.) In 2005, the NY Department of Education sent a letter saying the university violated state law by using the word university when it was not chartered as one and was offering live instruction or training without the required license. The letter was made public in April 2010 and in June the name was changed to 'The Trump Entrepreneur Initiative'. In 2011, the company was the subject of an inquiry by the NY Attorney General's (AG's) office for illegal business practices (largely ceased operations in May 2011). On August 24, 2013, NY filed a $40 million civil suit against the University alleging fraud. Trump denied the allegations, claimed the school had a 98% approval rating and said the NY AG was a political hack looking to get publicity. In a separate California (CA) civil lawsuit, Art Cohen v. Donald J. Trump, filed in mid-February 2014, US District Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel of San Diego allowed claimants in CA, Florida (FL), and NY to proceed as a class action and rejected Trump's request to dismiss their racketeering claim. (All three state suits are going forward and the trial is scheduled for November 28, 2016.) In October 2014, a NY judge found Trump personally liable for operating the university without the required license. In August 2015, Magistrate Judge William Gallo of the US District Court for the Southern District of CA kept the university records sealed. In February 2016, Trump suggested the lawsuit benefited from the Hispanic ethnicity of the presiding judge and repeatedly attacked Curiel in campaign speeches, called the judge a hater and a Mexican who should disqualify himself. On May 27, 2016, Curiel, who is overseeing two of the class actions, granted the WA Post's motion to unseal all the university records, ruled that under recent precedent from the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals, Trump failed to show a compelling reason why the material should remain confidential. On June 4, during an interview on CBS’s Face the Nation, Trump continued his overtly racist tirade against Curiel. He said Curiel treated him in a hostile manner due to the judge’s Mexican heritage. I think it has a lot to do with it. First of all, I’ve had terrible rulings forever...This is a case I should’ve won on summary judgment...He is a member of a club or society, very strongly pro-Mexican, which is all fine...But I say he’s got bias. I want to build a wall. I’m going to build a wall. Asked if he believed that he would be treated unfairly by a Muslim judge because of his call to ban all Muslims from entering the US, Trump said, It’s possible. It’s possible, yes. That would be possible, absolutely. A USA Today June 2, 2016 article said Trump and his businesses were involved in at least 3,500 legal actions in federal and state courts during the past three decades (back to the 1980s; LawNewz.com says at least 169 were federal suits). In my opinion the only judges that Trump would consider to be treating him fairly are White Male racists as he has insulted everyone else. On June 17, 2016, it was said there were 70 suits, 50 still active, since Trump began his campaign (June 20, 2015, he sued Univision for not wanting to air the July 12 Miss USA pageant) and he took time out for a deposition in a lawsuit he filed with a celebrity chief that pulled out of a restaurant deal because of the Mexican comments.

In May 2016, Reinhold 'Reince' Priebus, chairperson of the Republican National Committee (RNC) said people do not care about Trump's misconduct. Many in the GOP who bad mouthed Trump now supported him. He came into New Mexico (NM) and had many negative things to say about Governor Susanna Martinez (first Latina governor in the country's history and chairwoman of the Republican Governors Association tasked with getting GOP governors elected). Unlike others, I expected Trump to be degrading but I did not expect the woman I voted for to respond with - I won't be bullied... but I know I will not vote for Hillary Clinton; I lost all respect for Martinez. In addition to his attack on Martinez, Trump continued his aim at Hillary and went after Massachusetts (MA) Senator Elizabeth Warren, calling her Pocahontas because of her 2012 claim that she has Native American ancestry. In the beginning, Trump loved the media outlets' attention but it began questioning his experience and claims. He now called political reporters sleazy and dishonest because they questioned the money collected/donated for veterans in January; most of it was just now being given. (There are numerous articles on Trump being the least charitable billionaire in the US along with stories showing how funds collected were misused. In 2009, Libyan Moammar Gaddafi rented space from Trump and he was to give the money to charity but did not. Trump also used money from his foundation, to which he gives little, to purchase a signed Tim Tebow football helmet at a Komen cancer auction.) Trump basically said - what you see is what you get. This tells me that his seemingly softer approach that lasted less than two months was just another lie. In June, he banned the WA Post from his campaign events citing incredibly inaccurate coverage; by this time he was said to have had banned: Politico, BuzzFeed, the Huffington Post, Daily Beast, Des Moines Register, the National Review, Gawker, Mother Jones, and Univision. It seems Trump cannot take what he dishes out so Mr. Thinskin needs to do what he has told others to do - Suck it up and Get Over It.

With all this, I say people vote for Trump and the GOP because they are bigots (extremists, racists, hypocrites and chauvinists). If you take a look at the GOP, you will find they lie and violate the Constitution as much as the Bible. On June 9, 2016, Speaker Ryan told ABC's George Stephanopoulos that 7 out of 10 Americans believe the country is going in the wrong direction and we agree with that; we offer them an alternative. The GOP lies are what has people thinking the country is going in the wrong direction. How is cutting unemployment in half, improving people's 401Ks, fixing the mortgage crisis that led to the recession and many more domestic improvements as well as reducing foreign terrorist strongholds not the right direction?

Contrary to the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam), too many Americans do not value life over greed or their biases and they do not replenish the earth (Genesis 9:1). Many of the environmental, safety and other regulations that today's GOP want to destroy were put in place by previous members of the GOP (Nixon created the Environmental Protection Agency [EPA] in 1970). In addition to polluting our water and air, the GOP want to use all the oil and gas within the earth leaving nothing for our posterity (future generations) and this does not speak to the issue of climate change/global warming that the GOP does not want to help prevent.

The GOP Christians often say they are pro-life because they do not believe in a woman's right to choose an abortion. These people are actually anti-choice or pro-bacteria/zygote as brain and life functions develop around 26 weeks. Those saying that life begins with bacteria or that the DNA of a zygote is the same as the human at death contradict themselves if they use medicine and cleaning products to ward off unwanted bacteria. And, over 90% of human DNA matches primates. By making this cause their primary reason for their vote, they do not support life programs such as welfare, food stamps, foster care and/or adoption that the GOP votes to defund. On December 3, 2015, it was reported that there were 415,129 kids in US foster programs in 2014; the number leaving the programs was steadily decreasing so there is a continuous increase. The GOP, that is against life programs, has you forget about the billions of dollars in subsidies given to the rich oil conglomerates, farmers and ranchers.

Pope John Paul II in his Apostolic Exhortation of November 22, 1981 said life is to actualize in history the original blessing of the Creator-that of transmitting by procreation the divine image from person to person...But the Church firmly believes that human life, even if weak and suffering, is always a splendid gift of God’s goodness...Thus the Church condemns as a grave offense against human dignity and justice all those activities of governments or other public authorities which attempt to limit in any way the freedom of couples in
