      The Black Mage books are enjoyable fantasy adventure books. Each book carefully builds characters and a great story arc. The Candidate reaped the benefits of the now established world and characters. Instead of becoming formulaic it ramps up the story arc and twists your heart. The other books got a 4 star from me, this one is even better-- 5 stars from me.

      Book one sets the world and you cheer for the little guy. Book 2 has you explore the world and characters limitations through adversity and hopeless desires. Book 3 twists certain established views, focuses on character growth through adventures, contests, love, jealousy, politics, loss and revelation.

      Be aware book 3 ends in a cliffhanger of sorts and Book 4 is just released as of the end of January 2017. So debating on buying book 4 as I don't know when Scribd will obtain it...
