About this ebook

From Scribd: About the Book

Peter Ferdinand Drucker is an Austrian management consultant, educator, and author, whose writings contributed to the philosophical and practical foundations of the modern business corporation. In his tell-all self help book, Managing Oneself, Drucker teaches readers how to channel their productivity and manage their business.

With ambition, drive, and talent, anyone can rise to the top of their chosen profession regardless of where they started out. But with this opportunity comes responsibility — Drucker writes that companies today aren't managing their knowledge workers careers and each individual must be their own chief executive officer.

It’s up to the individual to carve out their place in the world and know when to change course. And it's up to them to keep themselves engaged and productive during a career that may span some 50 years. In Managing Oneself, Drucker explains how to do this.

Drucker offers readers the keys to this personal management, stating that when one operates with a combination of one’s own strengths and self-knowledge, one can achieve true and lasting excellence. Managing Oneself identifies the probing questions readers need to ask to gain the insights essential for taking charge of their career.

Peter F Drucker is precise and mundane. In the book he raises simple questions, which one must raise with oneself and understand the issues at hand. If these are answered perhaps many complexities can be avoided.

I purchased this book by Peter Drucker in 11-27-2015. This is a Harvard Business Review series about management practice and will influence business today. Each volume ha ideas that has shape best practice and inspired many mangers sound the world and will change how you think about business in the 21st century. History shows us that Napoleon, a da Vinci and Mozart can manage themselves with great success; if you want success history will prove you have the abilities to change your business for success even in a weak economy. What I loved best about this book if the fact that we have to place ourselves where we can make the greatest contribution. In other words, stop trying to fix your weaknesses and concentrate on your strengths. It is imperative that your values and the value of the organization you work for are compatible otherwise it’s best to get out and find where you can use your strengths elsewhere. Find a job or organization where you belong and your life will balance itself out. This is managing yourself! This book is for people who want to create the career path by knowing when to seize opportunities and when to change course. If you are ready for a change this one hour reading will change your life and career for the best in 2016. © 2016 Jackie Paulson
