TRIVIA WARS: Are You Smarter than Confucius?

Preliminaries Contest Mechanics: This contest is open to all bona fide students of Ateneo de Manila University. There must be four (4) contestants in order to form a group. Each group must be named based on the names of the disciples of Confucius. (i.e.: Zi Lu) There are three rounds namely, Easy, Average, and Difficult. Each group will bet a certain number of points before each question. If the group gets the question correctly, the group will gain the number they bet for. If the group answered incorrectly, the group will lose the number they bet for. (i.e.: A groups bet is 3. If the group gets the question correctly, they will have 3 additional points. If not, they will lose 3 points.) The maximum number of points that each group can bet are as follows: o Easy 3 points o Average 5 points o Difficult 7 points Questions will come from the following categories: o Chinese History o Chinese Culture and Others o Chinese Literature o Famous Chinese Personalities o Chinese Geography o Chinese Art o Chinese Pop Culture o Chinese Political Economy There will be 8 questions per difficulty level. The quizmaster will read the question twice. There is 25 seconds, 45 seconds, 60 seconds to answer the Easy, Average, and Difficult questions respectively. After all the questions have been exhausted, the group with the most number of points will win. The top 3 groups which will garner the most number of points will be the official representative of the Ateneo de Manila University to the Are You Smarter than Confucius? main event. In case of a tie, a tie-breaker question will be given out.
