. Introductory Letter Dear Friend Welcome to REIKI Natural Healing, this manual was created so that everybody no matter where they are will be able to have the SYMBOLS of REIKI. Now you will be able to help yourselves and others to overcome any fears, guilts, anxieties, and pains. With Emotional healing as well as Mental Healing. During my life experiences I realised that my thoughts are transferred into my feelings. Sometimes it is fear that I have to overcome. So now that I use the SYMBOLS of REIKI, I find I have overcome a lot of my problems. Whether they are about family or friends, that I lack understanding with. Now I can be in balance with my body mind and spirit. SYMBOLS can be used anywhere and in any situation. If you are with people and do not feel comfortable, use a Symbol, the other person will also benefit from the self-esteem or upliftment that you are feeling. So please try it for yourself first, and then offer the same Symbol to your family and friends. Open eyes Meditation while driving the car, and having the Symbols in the back of the mind, can also get you from point A to B with less stress. Meditation is something I do every morning, afternoon, evening, or as often as I want, or in any different situations. Affirmation can be fun and also very rewarding try your own and then share your affirmation with others. Exchange ideas and offer your experience to whomever you are in contact with. I would like you to study the MANUAL that you are about to read first, and then think about it for a day before you do the first Initiation. The CHAKRAS are energy centers, and are activated in the process. Give yourself time to feel What the Attunement can give you mentally and emotionally the Power Symbols are there for the Fine Tuning. Then do the Blessing, and the Master Symbols. Drink water for thirst. I have left blank pages for your use intentionally, so that notes can be jotted down and also your thoughts can be drawn in colour. When you are sitting with the Ascended Masters, thoughts or feelings will come into your mind that can be very creative, and then is the time to use paper and pen. Initiation Ceremony is when you and the Ascended Masters are together as one, they are there even if you cannot see, feel, smell, or hear them at the time of the Attunement. With Practice of the Symbols you will discover more gifts that we all have in healing. You will be able to treat the CHAKRAS with the Symbols you have learned. Make use of this special form of REIKI treatment whenever appropriates. Balancing out the CHAKRAS will harmonies the body, dissolve blockages of energy and set potential capabilities free. Once I had a lot of dreams which now, with REIKI I know have come through for me, today I have done 180 degrees turn around, with being a writer and publisher there are more people out there who want the same as I do. Visualisation was the first gift given to me.When I was doing REIKI level I in meditation Kwan Yin materialised before my eyes! In full colour and I knew that REIKI was for me.

The other senses, which I have also been able to use in conduction with REIKI, are sight, sound, touch, smell or taste, creating something new in life. Also what I received from REIKI is freedom to study at home, self satisfaction, self-esteem, motivation, challenges, goals, enjoyment in personal spirituality, valuable growth, new skills, knowledge from beyond, enhanced well-being, expanding myself by experiencing and understanding, raising vibration, larger perspective and trust myself, accepting the unknowing, honour the creativity, expanding my intuition, balancing with the changes to enlightenment and vision, When you have completed your distant education manual, please write to me and tell me of all your experiences, feelings, etc through the initiation and Attunements with the Ascended Masters. Living Testimony REIKI is a ritual by having symbol's put together, using Cho-Ko-Rei and SeiHe-Ki together also can clear gemstones and crystals, use Sei-He-Ki first to clear the stone by holding the crystal or gemstone in your hand and visualising the symbol drawn over it, let the symbol sink in and repeat until you know that no more is needed, then send Cho-Ko-Rei and you can feel the energy changing, I have also used the crystal to program it for healing myself or others, there are people who will say not to give your crystal to other people, but when somebody ask you for help in a class room situation and your crystal is there for healing, I have given with abundance of love, healing is available for all who are ready to receive, do we not want REIKI to be universal again? You can also heal Mother Earth by focusing your intent, or standing bare feet on the ground, or any endangered forest, visualising earth-quakes, developing hurricanes, flood areas, polluted disasters, send energy for cleansing, calming, soothing, protection, releasing, with assistance from the Ascended Masters love, and compassion, so that we can all take some responsibility,

INTRODUCTION Many people ask, when they first hear the work Reiki, what is it? It is perhaps easier to answer this question to first state what Reiki is not. It is NOT a religion, nor is it associated with any religion, sect or cult, and it is not based on creeds or beliefs contradictory to Universal Laws of Love and Light. Reiki embraces all philosophies and systems of thought. Reiki is an alternative name for the Usui Method of Natural Healing. It is a Japanese word of two syllables, which means REI KI (Pronounced ray) = Universal Spirit or essence; (Pronounced key) = Life Energy, Light or Chi (as in Tai Chi). The discipline of Reiki has to do with the use of Universal Life Energy in a healing capacity. People trained in Reiki can tap into the supply of Life Energy and channel it through their bodies to the receiver. During this channeling the energy needs of the Reiki practitioner, the channel, are supplemented and maintained (they do not drain their own resources). Once in the receiver the energy goes to where it is needed. It is important to always remember that: REIKI empowers the receiver to take the next most appropriate step in their growth and development. This is usually to address energy imbalances and activate natural repair mechanisms (seek assistance from health care professionals if needed). Thus the receiver actually heals him/herself. Living/and our thought patterns combine to create blocks and imbalances to the flow. These blocks are reflected in the body and can manifest as malfunctions or disease, dis-comfort or problems, Reiki can be very effective in e.g.; Fear, Self Esteem, Confidence, Motivation, Insecurity, Depression, Anxiety, Anger, Stress, Traumas, Childhood experiences, Healing Inner Child, Relationship, Success, Prosperity, Procrastination, Study, Memory. Balancing your own energy body bodies, mastering your own awareness, Destiny. (See late).

Therefore, Reiki (ray-key) means Universal Spirit of Life, or Universal Life Energy - the energy of life that is all around us and continuously flowing through us. This energy is the difference between a piece of wood and a tree, both are made of the same basic components (cellulose) but one is dead (no life energy) and the other is alive (plenty of life energy). The flow of Life Energy through us is what keeps us alive. Yet this flow is uneven for many. The stresses and tensions of daily

Alternatively, the next most appropriate step for the receiver may be for his/her body to cease functioning and the soul to pass over in peace Reiki Practitioners are NOT healers. They are channels of Life Energy and cannot influence where it goes or to what purpose it is used (the giving of Reiki must be unconditional). A Reiki channel simply taps into the energy supply and surrenders to it, trusting that it will go to where it is needed to produce the greatest benefit for the receiver. A Reiki channel can make no promises whatsoever as to cures, miracles or other such considerations. THE HISTORY OF THE USUI SYSTEM OF NATURAL HEALING The story of Reiki to date has been an oral history that is, passed from teacher to student by word of mouth. This is the story as I and others have heard it: The founder of Reiki as natural healing is Dr. Mikao Usui. At the turn of the century, in the, late 1800s Dr. Usui was the president of a small Christian University in Kyoto, Japan, Doshisha University. He was also a Christian minister. An interchange with a student at the beginning of a Sunday service changed the focus of Dr. Usuis life. As Dr. Usui was beginning one of the last Sunday services of the school year, a senior student about to graduate raised his hand and asked Dr. Usui:

Do you accept the contents of the Bible literally? DR Usui answered that indeed he did. The student went on: In the Bible it says that Jesus cured the sick, that he healed, and that he walked on water. You accept this as written, have you ever seen this happen? DR Usui agreed that he believed and answered that no, he had never seen a healing or walking on water. The student went on to say: For you, DR Usui, that kind of blind faith is enough, for you have lived your life and are secure. For us who are just beginning our adult lives and who have many questions and concerns, it is not enough. We need to see with our own eyes. A seed had been sown. The next day DR Usui resigned his position as president of Doshisha University and came to the United States to the University of Chicago where he received a doctorate degree in Scripture trying to uncover the secret of how Jesus and his disciples healed the sick. He had not found what he sought. Realizing that in the Buddhism tradition it is held that the Buddha had the power to heal, he decided to return to Japan and see what he could learn from Buddhism. Upon his return to Japan DR Usui began to visit the BUDDIST monasteries searching for someone who had an interest in and some knowledge of physical healing. He always received the same answer to his inquires We are too busy with healing the spirit to worry about healing the body.

At long last he found someone who was at least interested in the problem of physical healing, an elderly Abbot of a Zen monastery. DR Usui requested that he be admitted to the monastery so that he could study the Buddhism Scriptures, the sutras, in search of the key to healing. He was admitted and so began his study. He studied the Japanese translations of the BUDDIST Scriptures but did not find the explanation he sought. He learned by chance that a wider range of BUDDIST writings were available to him, still without success. Then he decided to learn Sanskrit, the ancient language, so that he could read the original BUDDIST writings and have access to those writings that had never been translated into another language. Finally, he found what he had been looking for, in the teachings of the BUDDHA. Some unknown disciple had written them down. As the BUDDHA spoke, DR Usui found the formula, in the symbols, of how BUDDHA healed! And so at the end of a seven-year search, DR Usui had found what he had sought - but not quite. Although he had uncovered the knowledge, he did not have the power to heal. Discussing this with his old friend, the Abbot, he decided to go to a mountain and meditate, to seek the power to heal. The Abbot told him that it could be dangerous, that he could lose his life. DR Usui answered that he had come this far and would not turn back. DR Usui climbed one of the sacred mountains of Japan and meditated for twenty-one days. On the first day he placed twenty-one small stones in front of him, and as each day passed he threw one stone away.

On the twenty-first day, DR Usui became aware of a beam of light from the heavens that came shooting towards him. Although he was afraid, he did not move and was struck by this light which knocked him over. Then in rapid succession he saw before him like bubbles of light the symbols that he had discovered in his study, the key to the healing of Buddha and Jesus. The symbols burned themselves into his memory. When the trance was over, DR Usui no longer felt exhausted, stiff, or hungry as he had moments before on the last day of his meditation. DR Usui got up and began to walk down the mountain. On his way he stubbed his big toe, tearing back the toenail. He jumped with pain and grabbed his toe with his hand. In minutes the pain left, the bleeding stopped and his toe was well on the way to healing. When he came down from the mountain he stopped at an outside vendors stall and ordered breakfast. The old man at the stall, seeing the length of his facial hair and the conditions of his clothes realized he had been on a long fast, and said that it would be a few minutes before he could prepare his food. He directed DR Usui to go and sit under a tree on a bench to wait. Soon the daughter of the man came with his breakfast. As he looked at her DR Usui saw that she had been crying and that her face was swollen and red on one side. He asked her what was wrong and she replied that she had a toothache for three days. He asked if he could touch her face, and with her permission he cupped her cheeks in his hands. In a few minutes the pain left her and the swelling began to recede.

Returning to the monastery in the evening, DR Usui was told that his friend, the Abbot, was in bed suffering from a painful attack of arthritis. After bathing and having something to eat, DR Usui went to see his friend and with his healing hands relieved his pain. Today, the Usui System of Natural Healing is practiced all over the world. You are part of this history. With your willingness to share this gift, you support and quicken the unfolding of information and healing. Reiki. . The Universal Life Force In my description on the Art of Healing, I will try to be practical rather than technical. What I am attempting to explain is not associated with any Material being which is visible, nor has it shape, or a name. I believe there exists one Supreme Being - The Absolute Infinite - a dynamic force that governs the world and universe. It is an unseen spiritual power that vibrates and all other powers fade into insignificance beside it. Therefore it is Absolute! This power is unfathomable, immeasurable, and being a Universal Life Force, it is incomprehensible to man, yet every single Living Being is receiving its blessing daily, awake or asleep. Different teachers and masters call Him the Great Spirit; the Universal Life force; God, The Source, All Being, The Cosmic. The Life Energy vitalizes the whole system; The Etheric Wave soothes pain and puts you into a deep slumber as if under an anesthetic; and The Cosmic Wave Radiates vibrations of exultant feeling and lifts you into harmony.

It is called REIKI. Reiki is the Japanese word for Universal Life Force Energy. When the word Reiki is broken down into its two component parts, you have REI and KI. The definition for REI - is universal, transcendental, spirit, mysterious power, and essence. KI is described as the vital life force energy, very similar to the Chi of Chinese acupuncture or the light to Christians. Reiki is a radonic wave like radio. It can be applied locally or as a short wave. A distant treatment can be successfully given. Reiki is not Electricity, nor Radium or X-ray. It can penetrate thin layers of silk, linen, porcelain or lead, wood or steel, because it comes from The Great Spirit, from The Infinite. It does not destroy delicate tissue or nerves. It is absolutely harmless; therefore, it is a practical and safe treatment. Because it is a Universal Wave, everything that has life benefits when treated - Human beings, infants and old, poor or rich, plant life or animals.

What makes Reiki different from other healing methods is the ATTUNEMENT process, wherein a person has been through the process of fine tuning the physical and Etheric bodies to a higher vibratory level. In addition, certain energy centers, known as CHAKRAS, are opened to enable the person to channel higher amounts of this Universal Life Energy. The Usui system of Reiki is in no way associated with any sect, cult or religion. Reiki is an act of natural healing which empowers you to bring about improvement and healing to your body, mind and spirit. A gift of Reiki is the awareness of being reconnected to your source of coming home. It gives you a sense of wholeness, where it is easy to love yourself, and in so doing, discover how loving the world can become.

Reiki helps meet the needs of the individual and society to be in balance and harmony. Reiki. . It Belongs To All Who Seek

and may even fall asleep, but this will not make any difference to the effects of the treatment.

Being a Universal Force from the Great Spirit, Reiki belongs to all that seek and desire to learn the Art of Healing. It knows no color, creed or age. It will find its way when a student is ready to accept. He/she is shown the way. Initiation is a sacred ceremony where the contact with the Universal Energy is made. Because we are associating with Divine Spirit, there is no error or doubt. It is ABSOLUTE!

Many various reactions may occur e.g. old and unresolved experiences may come to the surface again - a release of emotions may occur and tears will flow. Although we lay our hands on ourselves, and patients body in order to link him/her to the energy of Reiki, it wont merely affect you him/her on the material plane (that of the physical Being), but will involve you him/her in entirety of mind, body and spirit. Bodily illness or weakness is only the physical expression of a lack of basic order, a sign of having fallen out of a state of inner union with all life. When you or someone is treated with Reiki, you/they are brought back into a state of unity with the harmony of the universe. This harmony which is able to reach you/them in their smallest of cells makes you/them whole and healthy again, thus encouraging the natural ability of you/they patient to heal you him/herself. Reiki leads us back to a state of wholeness in the widest sense of the work. It frequently happens that you or the recipient will come into contact with new ideas after a few self-Reiki treatments. Some will start doing yoga, or meditate, or practice some other kind of spiritual method. Others will read books on changing their thinking and eating habits etc.

How Does Reiki Work? Reiki accelerates the bodys ability to heal physical and mental ailments and assists you to correct imbalances of mind and spirit, which lead to dis-ease. It opens you to the pleasure of taking responsibility for your own life and to receive the joy of relaxed and balanced wellness when this is done. We know of so many cases where severe, even terminal illnesses have been healed with Reiki; total health and recovery can be achieved. When we treat a person with Reiki, we do this by the laying on of our hands on various parts of the body. (Mark 16:18 Bible they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.) We will soon be aware of a kind of flowing sensation, often combined with a sensation of warmth. The recipient will often feel the flowing during treatment

When you treat yourself or a person with Reiki, the energy is flowing through your hands, unfolding its healing power within you at the same time as the person. Thus, by passing Reiki on to others, you will be cleansed more and more and be made whole and healthy. You will notice that trust will slowly begin to develop with you, trust in a wisdom and power from the universe that will change your whole life. A new development will take place leading you to insight and knowledge. Our Source the Spirit gave us this body, a place to dwell in and our daily bread. We were born into this world for a purpose; therefore, we could seek this purpose and have health and happiness. It was Spirits plan that he provides us with everything. He gave us hands to heal, to retain physical health and mental balance. We need to free ourselves from ignorance, and live in an enlightened world, to live in harmony with ourselves, and to love all Beings. When these rules are applied daily, the body shall respond and all we wish and desire to attain in this world is within our reach. Health, happiness and the road to longevity, which we all seek, I call this Perfection. The more you apply to doing Reiki the more benefits will result. Blocked Energy may also be cleansed. From all bodies, and levels, raising of ones vibration may also occur. Keep it as simple as you can, it is a very powerful energy, everyone has the ability to be tuned into Reiki, Integrity and responsibility is important. 1/2 hr treatment is enough for self-Reiki and awareness of the different energy and colors, awareness of hot or cold in the body.

Reiki re-establishes spiritual equilibrium and mental well being. Reiki functions on all levels, mental, spiritual, physical or emotional. Reiki balances the bodys energies. Reiki loosens up blocked energy and promotes a state of total relaxation. Reiki cleanses the body toxins. Reiki adjusts itself according to your want and of the recipient. Reiki works with animals and plants also. Reiki is an extremely pleasant holistic method of healing. Reiki. A Daily Treatment Reiki could be applied and used daily, as prevention. Reiki can never do damage in any way since it only flows from love and in the quantities necessary for you or the recipient.

At other times Anger can motivate us to give us the courage through the truth of the matter, to do what you know in your heart, is the right thing to do. Anger held for a long time can be released through, determination to resolve the issue at hand and forgiveness of self and others. Anger becomes disharmonious energy, which creates dis-ease in the body. EARN YOUR LIVING HONESTLY Of great importance to a harmonious life flow is honesty in dealing with oneself. To be honest with oneself is to face the truth in all things. To live in truth is to be aligned with your higher Selfs purpose. Living in truth is also the simplest, least complex way to live, if you are honest with yourself, you will project honesty onto others. It then becomes easy to do onto others as you would do unto you. HONOUR YOUR PARENTS, TEACHERS AND ELDERS As we choose the situation we now find ourselves in, our parents, teachers and elders are here to help guide, teach and show us love and shelter us from the many problems of life. They are also here to help explain the lessons as they unfold. To show love and respect to all others is to love and respect ourselves. SHOW GRATITUDE TO EVERY LIVING THING Through physics we know that we are all a collective energy from the same source. There is truly no solid matter only different level of vibrations. All forms of matter vibrate at different energy levels yet they are all interconnected.

JUST FOR TODAY DO NOT WORRY Worry is a thought pattern, which results from awareness of separateness from the I AM consciousness (universal wholeness). To worry about the past is futile - we must remember that each person does the best that she/he has at any given moment. To worry about the future is also futile. Expect the best in life, and when you receive something that you didnt expect, know (trust) that it is the best for you in your present situation. Somehow you helped to create - on the subconscious level - the situation to learn, so be aware and grateful that it has come to pass.

JUST FOR TODAY DO NOT ANGER Anger in reality, is an expression not a solution. When you feel anger rising, take a deep breath and relax, and find a way to solve the problem.

Each person, animal, plant and mineral is included in the whole. To show gratitude is to love and respect ourselves and mother Earth. Reiki. . DR Usuis First Healing DR Usui had begun his Healing with the hope of giving beggars the opportunity to become re-integrated with society. When several of them tried and failed at shouldering the responsibilities of everyday life, he began to realize the importance of a persons participation in her/his own life healing process. A person needed to want and then ask for a change/healing to make a real difference in her/his life. If the help of others was involved there could also be an exchange of energy. But just giving Healing it is not sufficient. DR Usui saw that people needed to give back for what they receive, in order to maintain a sense of balance. DR Usui thus discovered two very important factors: 1. That a person could ask for a healing (it is not the job of any healer to try and help where healing is not wanted). (It is not right to keep a person feeling indebted for services rendered, thus the recipient by sharing energy in a variety of forms, frees himself of obligation.

The same applies to disease - perhaps people create disease on a subconscious level to enable them to learn certain lessons or even to die. It is not our job to heal the world, but rather, to show the people how they might heal themselves. He then understood why all of the great religions concentrated on the healing of the Spirit, as it seemed that the causal factor of disease lay in a rift between the Mind and the Spirit. Steps To Take before Channeling Energy Before commencing the healing there are some guidelines to follow. (Always remember if anything doesnt feel right, adapt it for your own personal use.) 1 Make sure you have some form of protection, affirmations, grounding and center yourself, Earthing, as opening up to channel Universal energy can make you vulnerable to those different energies around you. Ensure you are grounded. Center yourself. Earthing. A short meditation just reminds you to keep your feet on the ground, and not be distracted from the healing.

Pure, unselfish love is the highest energy available to us. The color pink is usually associated with this form of love, and it is a good visual tool to use when channeling healing energy. When you channel energy for yourself or to someone else you act as a pipeline for the Universal energy, the energy that surrounds us. This energy flows through you into the other person, much as water flows through a hose and onto your garden. The water nurtures the garden, as well as cleansing the hose it travels through. When it is channeled like this, the natural healing energies already present around us are intensified and consciously directed to the areas of highest good. Always remember that healing is not only satisfying but also carries with it responsibility. We, as would-be healing channels, could never expect to cure others, but rather, to be channels of healing love, and allow the receivers soul to dictate the level and quality of healing to take place. The physical level is the last level for any sort of healing to manifest. If healing occurs on the physical, this is wonderful, as it means that all other levels of that person have also received healing. All of us attract dis-ease as a way of learning certain lessons or virtues. Our soul has the final say as to whether we want backache, or that cancer, or whether we have learned our lesson thoroughly enough that we can release the pain. Perhaps a backache is there to tell us there is a more serious problem, and simply alleviating the pain does us no good in the long run.

Make sure your CHAKRAS are in line so that you are prepared to deal with whatever comes up during the healing, whether it is some emotional release, or some psychic information received to help the healing. Ask to become a channel for healing energies. Ask that as much healing as possible, on as many levels as possible, within you or the receivers divine plan, and takes place. This is a form of prayer, and activates our inner healing energies. As the energy flows through you, trust it to flow and be aware of it. Notice if it is warm, hot, cool or cold, or if your hands tingle. This may be felt at your first try, or not until you have given several Healing. However, trust that your request has been granted, relax and in time your sensitivity will increase, to where you will be aware of even minor changes in energy flow. The temperature of the energy is not important at this stage. To notice it is to recognize your own sensitivity.

Reiki. . The Right Atmosphere Some ideas I use. . Ensure that the room is clean and tidy . Ensure that there is good ventilation . Ensure that the room is pleasant to the senses e.g.; burn incense or oils . Place a fresh flower/s in the room to introduce nature Provide suitable music to quieted the mind, to place yourself or the recipient in a relaxed state e.g. T OConner. If a telephone is near, take it off the hook to avoid unnecessary distractions. Ensure there are no unnecessary noises e.g. doors squeaking, curtains flapping, clocks ticking If possible have the room at a comfortable temperature, avoid noisy heaters or fans if possibly Have a jug of fresh water and glasses nearby for thirst. Before commencing Reiki when there is more than one giver discuss your procedures prior to commencement to avoid added distractions during the Reiki As Reiki is an exchange of Universal Energy between a giver/and receiver, respect the solemness of the occasion and ensure that all possible steps are taken, allow all persons to respect this energy.

Always ask yourself or the person if they would like to receive a healing from you. Dont be upset if the reply is no. They may not be comfortable with the idea of healing, or it may simply not be the time and place. Always give thanks afterwards to the Universal Source of the energy. Remember that you are channeling healing energy; therefore dont be surprised at the results that can be achieved.

Reiki. . An Introduction to Practical Work Encourage the recipient or yourself to relax arms beside the body. To assist with your Reiki there are a few general rules and principles, which could be observed. For the beginner there are basic hand positions to familiarize and ease you into Reiki. These positions are very helpful, and provide an overall cover of the body; however they are only a guide. There is no need for you to worry about the sequence of hand position. Enable yourself to relax and move freely over your body or recipient. It is suggested to let yourself be guided by your inner feeling and allow your hands to go where they intuitively want to go during a treatment. Every treatment is a very individual one and is appropriate for you and the recipients needs at that given time. As a general rule timing is between three to five minutes for each position, Allow at least one hour for the full treatment. People are very sensitive about their faces. Place a tissue over the eyes. Many people are very sensitive to touch (burns, soreness). It is sufficient to hold your hands approximately 6 cm above the body, REIKI works as effectively from this distance. When altering the placement of the hands, move one hand at a time. This enables you to remain in contact with the body. It eliminates sudden changes, and is more comforting to the body. After the treatment allow yourself or the recipient to lie and rest. This allows you or the recipient to ease ourselves back without startling. A REIKI channel is not in a position to diagnosis. Do Not Diagnose. Through discussion you and the recipient may mention an ailment. Do not be judgmental, remain as neutral as possible.

A Few Tips . . . REIKI. . CHAKRAS and Their Significance Remove your watch, rings, bracelets etc. before commencing. Hygiene is essential. Wash your hands before and after treatment. It is NOT necessary to remove clothing, however allow the recipient or yourself to remove shoes and to loosen tight clothing. Cover the recipient or yourself with a blanket or sheet if she/he is feeling cool. It is very important not to cross legs during treatment as this creates and pins and needles. The word CHAKRA is derived from Sanskrit and it means wheel. The CHAKRAS themselves are circular energy centers, which exist, in a humans subtle body. Clairvoyants perceive CHAKRAS as being circular spirals of energy, which differ in size and activity from one person to another. The CHAKRAS are connected to a fine channel of energy, which runs parallel to the spiral chord, and our material body could not exist without them. They serve as gateways for the flow of energy and life into our physical bodies.

Each CHAKRA is associated with a certain part of the body and a certain organ, which it provides with the energy it wants to function. Just as every organ in the human body has its equivalent on the mental and spiritual level, so too every CHAKRA corresponds to a specific aspect of human behavior and development. The lower CHAKRAS are associated with fundamental emotion and needs, for the energy here vibrates at a lower frequency and is therefore cruder in nature. The finer energy of the upper CHAKRAS corresponds to a humans higher mental and spiritual aspirations and faculties. A blockage of the energy flow of the CHAKRAS as well as an excess of energy can lead to an imbalance and disharmony on the physical, mental and spiritual level. Stress and trauma as well as painful experiences cause such disturbances, aim for an excess of joy. A Reiki channel can do a lot by simply purifying and balancing the CHAKRAS, so that the energy flows again without disturbance. Meditation and yoga seek to balance the energy of the CHAKRAS by purifying the lower energy and guiding them upwards. In the average person the CHAKRAS look like dull glowing little circles of about cm in diameter. However, once awakened, in a spiritually developed person, the CHAKRAS will pulse and glow and an enormous amount of energy will flow through them. THE SEVEN CHAKRAS figure 1.

1. The Root or Base CHAKRA lies in the area of the coccyx in men, and between the ovaries in women. This CHAKRA is the seat of physical vitality and the fundamental urge to survive. It regulates those mechanisms, which keep the physical body alive. Glands: the suprarenal glands Organs: the kidneys, bladder and spine 2. The Sacral or Sexual CHAKRA is positioned slightly below the navel, in front of the sacrum. It is the center of sexual energy (both as transmitter and receiver) and of the ego. The feelings of other people are directly perceived with this CHAKRA, (making it one of the centers of extrasensory perception). Glands: The gonads Organs: The organs of reproduction and the legs 3. The solar Plexus CHAKRA: lies slightly above the navel. It is the actual center of the body, the place where physical energy is distributed. It is also the center of unrefined emotions and the power urge and it is here. That we regard our navels. When we are scared, we can feel this area tightening up. Gland: The Pancreas Organs: The Stomach 4. The Heart CHAKRA is positioned in the middle of the chest at the height of the heart. It is the center of real, unconditional affection as well as brotherly love, spiritual growth, compassion, devotion and love. Many Eastern methods of meditation are especially designed to open up this CHAKRA. Gland The Thymus Organs The Heart, the liver, the lungs and the blood circulation.

5. The Throat CHAKRA, also known as the Thyroid or Laryngeal CHAKRA, is the CHAKRA of communication, self-expression and creativity. This is where you hear your inner voice and ones coming from extrasensory realms. Gland The Thyroid Organs The Throat, upper lungs, arms and digestive tract 6. The Third Eye CHAKRA lies in the middle of the forehead, a little higher than the eyebrows. It is the center of such forms of extra-sensory perception such as clairvoyance and telepathy. It is the seat of the will, the intellect and the spirit; it is here that we visualize. The opening of the Third Eye corresponds to spiritual awakening in many mystic traditions. Gland The pituitary gland (hypothesis) Organs The spine, lower brain, left eye nose and ears. 7. The Crown or Lotus CHAKRA is positioned at the top of the head, at the fontanel. This CHAKRA represents the highest level of consciousness that man/women/child can attain, known as enlightenment, consciousness of unity and the consciousness of I AM. Throughout a Reiki healing or during meditation various colors are often seen. The following is a general explanation of colors and useful guide, but not every person sees them and you are no lesser a channel if you don't. RED.- If it is clear and bright, red conveys vitality and energy. It initiates activity and is the color of clarity of purpose. If it is dark, it can mean anger, or frustration. Too much red around us can deplete, or over-energize our nervous systems. Certain shades of reds denote passion. ORANGE.- This is the color of strength and balance. Orange brings with it a sense of harmony, and used in healing promotes alignment of our spiritual mental emotional bodies. It is a color that can make us feel good about ourselves and gives us a sense of well being. YELLOW. - Bright, clear yellows indicate joy, as well as clarity of mind. The Chinese use yellow as a color of mourning. They perceive it as the color of a new dawn, or rebirth. Yellow gives us hope, and a feeling of new beginnings. GOLD.- A color of spiritual clarity, a sense of higher purpose. A gold color is often seen in paintings of Saints and holy men. LIGHT GREEN - Like the new buds in spring, this is a color of change, of awakening, of rebirth. It is also very refreshing to the body and spirit. DARK GREEN.- This color anticipates changes yet to come. Here is a potential for growth and clarity. Generally, green is a healing color, it brings balance. LIGHT BLUE.- A bright color brings clarity of emotions, peace and healing. It is a color of true, spiritual compassion, which allows us to do the things that must be done in the most appropriate way available to us.

Reiki. . A Guide to Colors

DARK BLUE. - This is a color of repressed emotions - feelings that we barely admit to ourselves. Sometimes we may need to feel vulnerable, but for whatever reason, we lock our true feelings away. It may indicate some hurt, just like a bruise on the physical level. PURPLE.- A color of royalty and spirituality. It brings with it a sense of responsibility and purpose. Purple cleanses our deepest soul and sets us on the paths we have chosen long ago. VIOLET.- This is the color of alchemy, of transmutation and transformation. It is very much a color for changing our patterns and old habits. This color helps us achieve our highest purpose. BROWN.- This color is our connection with the earth and with the animal sides of our nature. It can also represent physical unwellness, or an area in need of change. BLACK.- Black represents the infinite void. The ultimate in possibilities. Its presence allows the possibility of change and growth, of manifesting whatever we really desire. WHITE.- This is a color of protection and purity. It is the merging of all colors into a sense of wholeness or completion. If whilst giving a Reiki, or doing a meditation you see colors do not be concerned, it is a beautiful experience. It gives us an indication which areas and levels are worked on. Be aware of the colors, for the moment treat it as a beautiful sigh post and give thanks that your vibration is rising to a level enabling you to experience colors. However it is not always advisable to discuss this with the recipient until you are fully aware of the meanings of colors.
