Information updated on 9 May 2012 (subject to changes) The mission of Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) is to develop leaders in research, industry and government. The schools Integrated Programme (IP) is designed to provide holistic education by broadening students educational experience and maximise their learning opportunities. For the Direct School Admission (DSA) Exercise, we are looking for promising Sec 4 students who demonstrate: 1. Strong Intellectual Potential; 2. Leadership potential; 3. Outstanding talent in sports or performing arts; and 4. Qualities like integrity, resilience, passion and compassion. To ensure that students fully benefit from our IP, they will be assessed on their demonstrated and potential qualities, beyond mere academic ability. Successful applicants will be offered a place in Hwa Chong at the start of January 2013. Once a student has accepted the DSA offer, he/she will not take part in the Joint Admission Exercise. They will be assured of a place in the school on the condition that they satisfy the minimum criterion for admission to junior college (L1R5 less than or equal to 20 points), following the release of the GCE OLevel results. Joint Admissions Exercise


The Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) for the 2012 Academic Year has ended. The JAE is conducted annually by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to allow Singapore-Cambridge GCE O Level certificate holders to apply for admission to courses offered by: Junior Colleges (JC) the Millennia Institute (MI) Polytechnics (Poly) Institute of Technical Education For 2012 Joint Admissions Exercise, the following candidates were eligible to participate except those who had been successfully admitted to a JC/Poly through the Direct School Admission-Junior Colleges (DSA-JC) or Direct Polytechnic Admission (DPA): All Singapore Citizens (SC) or Permanent Residents (SPR) with valid Singapore-Cambridge GCE O Level Examinations results from any year. International students studying in a Government School, Government-Aided School or Independent School in Singapore with valid 2011 Singapore-Cambridge GCE O Level Examination results.
