PEREIRA ELECTED UNOPPOSED MEMBER OF THE COUNCIL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORT, PAKISTAN
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Pakistan, whose head quarters is based at London, U.K. held its Annual; General Meeting (AGM) at the KPT Staff College Auditorium in Lalazar on Thursday, May 27, 2010. Mr. J. Pereira, Deputy General Manager, Customer Services and Training of the Product Support Division of Hinopak Motors Limited was unanimously elected unopposed Member of the Council Executive Committee of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (Road Transport) for the year 2010-2011. Brig. (Retd) S.S.A. Qasim, Honorary Secretary General of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, whilst presenting his Annual Report to the Members of the CILT thanked Hinopak Motors Limited and other private sector organizations for supporting CILT. Brig. (Retd) S.S.A. Qasim appreciated the contribution of Mr. Pereira in the various activities of the CILT. Mr. J. Pereira is a Life Chartered Member of the CILT and is also a Member of the CILT faculty, where he delivers lectures on Transportation Management. He delivers lectures in the Diploma Course in Logistics and Transport and the Diploma Course in Supply Chain Management (SCM). These courses are held at the PIA Training Centre near the Star Gate, Old Karachi Airport Terminal covering all the four modes of transportation namely Air, Rail, Road and Sea. He is also expected to launch his own Diploma Course on Fleet Management very shortly. Mr. Pereira is also the Member of the Standing Committee on Science, Technology and Technical Education of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). He is a Member of the Catholic Businessmen and Professionals Association (CBPA) and Head of the Technical Education Committee (TEC) of the CBPA, which recently organized a programme on Career Counseling for the youth of Karachi. He was recently elected Member of the Governing Body of the House of Hope, Drug Rehabilitation Centre operating in Karachi and Sanghar (Interior Sindh). He is responsible for Corporate Governance and Leadership of the Organisation.
