Artist statement (Found n Form) Alhamdulillah First and foremost, I would like to be thankful to Allah SWT for giving me and all of my fellow companions the chance to effectively start our pace in art industry that we solely need. Also, I would like to express my gratitude to our curator and advisor, Encik Rosli Bin Zakaria, who willingly guide us through all the steps for this exhibition. Without his guidance and persistent help this exhibition would not be possible. Furthermore, I would like to say thank you to my fellow companions that participate in this exhibition and share all the experiences with me. Finally, thank you to all of my families and friends for the support they gave me. Found n Form is about creating a form from found metal objects. This is very interesting because when I thought of thrown-out metal, I have always thought of junk. Stuff we do not need; rusted metal of no longer durable. This has absolutely changed my mind of how I see the metals. There are things we can do with it. Through this exhibition I can assure that something that is old and rusted can sometimes be shining and new if an artist/person willing to preserve it. Found Metal 18 was sculptured from various parts of found metal. The form of the sculpture was not firstly idealized because it was design after I required my metal parts. I retrieved my found metal parts from mobile workshop and junkyard. Then, I assembled all the metals I found and select the ones I wanted to use after the consultation with my lecturer. I start idealized with the main attraction of the found metal which is the wheels. It slowly grows to aerodynamic form through comprehensive sketches where I manage to finalise it as a form of a transport which closely resembles a racing car. To combine all these parts I started with the main body using MIG welding technique followed by the base wheels. Next, I add the required accessory which I shaped through forging earlier. To complete the sculpture, I cleaned and polished it with autosol to achieve the final form.
