L#: L00174596 Grade Level: 4K Cooperating Teacher: Shannon Balentine Lesson Title: Sequencing The Three Little Pigs

Curriculum Standard(s) Addressed: PKRL2: With prompting and support, retell familiar stories, including key details.

Cross Curricular Connections: Music and movement will be integrated into the lesson through a song and finger play based on The Three Little Pigs story.

Instructional Objective(s) Criteria: Given a set of sequencing cards, the students will successfully sequence the events of The Three Little Pigs after the story has been presented to them.

Assessment(s) of the Objective: Pre-assessment: Question a random selection of students in the class and ask if they know what a fairy tale is. Play the song based on the story a few days in advance to see who remembers the Three Little Pigs story. Post-assessment: Have the students break into teacher led small groups and use picture cards to retell the story. Ideally, each student will get a card and put it in the correct order of events. The students can collaborate during this activity. The teacher will use an assessment sheet to record which students have difficulty with the activity.
