Name of Course: nformation Communications and Technology (formerly T Essentials)
Indiana Content Standards Document:
nformation Communications and Technology introduces students to the physical
components and operation of computers. Technology is used to build students'
decision-making and problem-solving skills. Students should be given the opportunity to
seek an industry-recognized digital literacy certification.
This link is to the standards sheet for T Essentials. added comments regarding what see
as the basic purposes of the course: T Essentials
Note: As of right now (1/14 @ 3:55) haven't received any response from a teacher that
would consider helpful. hope that some of the contacts have made will yield results soon,
one teacher responded that they would get back with me this week (see notes below).
From the standards sheet for this course (the old version at least) this is an introductory
high-school level course designed to give students a good foundation in basic computer
knowledge and skills prior to delving into more in depth subjects.
Skills learned here would include learning how to effectively use a suite of production tools
such as MS Office. Students would also learn some basics about computer hardware and
software and also learn about how networks operate and how to use the interwebs.
