A Resolution To Accept The New Chauncey Neighborhood Request for a

Neighborhood Land Use Plan

WHEREAS, the West Lafayette City Council did on 12/1/1997 adopt with
Ordinance #32-97 the New Unified Zoning Ordinance of Tippecanoe County and

WHEREAS, the area designated on the map attached in Exhibit #A and

commonly referred to as the New Chauncey Neighborhood is in the area of
control subject to the provisions of Ordinance #32-97 and

WHEREAS, the City of West Lafayette last made provision for the development of
a New Chauncey Neighborhood Plan through a contract approved on 11/17/1998
with Ratio Planning and

WHEREAS, the last Strategic Plan Update for the City of West Lafayette was
completed in June 2005

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE

CITY OF WEST LAFAYETTE, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:

That the COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST LAFAYETTE requests

that the Area Plan Commission of Tippecanoe County direct its staff to study the
New Chauncey Neighborhood and create with its residents and property owners,
first a LAND USE PLAN as an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan for
Tippecanoe County, Indiana, and once adopted, a ZONING PROPOSAL,
consistent with the principals of the New Unified Zoning Ordinance, as a means of
implementing that Plan, and that the Area Plan Commission, throughout these
processes, hold appropriate public hearings to evaluate these proposed work
products.
