Moscow is the capital of Russia and its largest city, also the largest in Europe. Moscow
is a political, economic, religious, financial, educational and transportation centre. It is
located on the river Moskva in the Central Federal District, European part of Russian. In
2007 Moscow was named the world's most expensive city. Its a home to the largest
number of billionaires in the world, and also to many scientific and educational
institutions, sport facilities. It is served by a complex transport system that includes the
worlds busiest subway, which is famous for its splendid architecture.

Moscows museums are among the best in the world with their unique collections.
Frequent art exhibitions show both the modern and the classic - painting, photography
and sculpture.

Moscow is also the heart of Russian ballet, opera and film. There are 93 theatres, 132
cinemas and 24 concert-halls. There are also two large circuses in Moscow.

There Mosfilm Studio is the heart of Russian cinematography. Many Soviet classic films
were shoot here. Now it is responsible for both artistic and mainstream productions.

There are 96 parks and 18 gardens in Moscow. Moscow is a very green city if compared
to other cities of comparable size in Europe.

222 institutions offering higher education in Moscow, including 60 state universities and
the Lomonosov Moscow State University, which was founded in 1755 the oldest
