Session Date: Monday 5 August 2013 Session Time: 6.30 to 8.30pm Alina will discuss in this two hour workshop how to ensure your service meets the safety regulations and WHS Act as well as changes in the Staying Healthy in Childcare 5th edition! She will talk about Nude Food Education and the role of the WHS officer. Policies and procedures that will support childrens health and safety practices; (mandatory and optional policies) You will find out most common areas breached and around 70 different WHS recommendations for your service! Session Date: Monday 19 August 2013 Session Time: 6.30 to 8.30pm How should a physical environment look like in childcare? Alina will discuss how physical environments effect childrens behaviours and strategies for beyond Behaviour Management. She will discuss how to implement sustainable practice into the service and also how to develop together with children meaningful green strategies that reflect the service philosophy. Alina will also discuss Being part of the Environment as well as present many different samples from across the country (how others have done it)! Alina will also show how Sustainability must (not only link to the service philosophy but also) be embedded within the service practice! Different case studies will be included as well samples of forest preschools from across Australia; (services that allow children to climb trees, have regular camping fires in their backyards and flying foxes)! QA5 Session Date: Monday 16th September 2013 Session Time: 6.30 to 8.30pm Alina values Relationships with Children as the most important National Quality Area! Alina will show you tips on how to implement the best and most efficient/meaningful group times and discussions (group times are not compulsory)! Alina will also present the importance of projects and building on childrens interests as well as challenging them via Intentional Teaching!
