This document discusses using a multi-stage Phase2 model to determine the bearing capacity of an undrained footing on clayey soil. The model gradually increases the load stress on the footing until failure, recording the maximum displacement for each load value. A graph of stress versus displacement is plotted for each case. The model exploits the symmetry of the problem to analyze the footing load on clay using Phase2 software.

Introduction To determine the bearing capacity of clayey strata a multi-stage Phase2 model is prepared in which the load stress over the footing is increased gradually until failure. Maximum displacement is recorded for each load stress value, and a graph is plotted between the stress and displacement values for each case. The symmetry of the problem is used while preparing the Phase2 model.
