    IregretfullyaccepttheresignationofPaulDarleyfromtheMetraBoardof Directors.PaulservedasarepresentativeofDuPageCountyforalltheright reasons.Firstandforemosthewantedtogivebacktohiscommunity;evidentby thefactthathedonatedhisMetrasalarytocharityandhedidnotacceptthe benefitsandturneddownthepensionthatwasofferedtohim. PaulisasavvybusinessownerwhomadeanimpactonMetrabysharinghis expertiseandhelpingtorunMetramorelikeabusiness.Unfortunatelyhewas facedwithaverydifficultdecisiontomakeintheseveranceagreementvotefor theformerExecutiveDirector.IbelievePaulcarefullyweighedtheoptionsand votedinfavoroftheagreementbecauseitwasthemostfiscallyprudentdecision. Noneofuslikeditbutvotingitdownwouldhaveresultedinspendingevenmore taxpayerdollars. IamthankfultoPaulforhisserviceandthepositiveimpacthehadonMetra duringthepasttwoyears.
