Dematic has added a custom front end to assist in building a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to be used as the basis for a Project Schedule. This front end will collect basic initial project information and then allow users to select the appropriate segment templates to be utilized in creating the basic project schedule.

Project Name is built automatically by concatenating the Project Number, Customer Name and Customer Site. The Wizard utilizes a SAP Reference table to look up the Project Number, Customer Name and Customer Site. Start by entering a Project Number and if this number is identified in SAP, the customer name and customer site will be automatically populated. If the Project Number is not found, the wizard will accept the number entered and require a Customer Name and Customer Site to be manually entered. These 3 fields are required. If the Project Number is not found, the following message will appear. Click to continue

Project Owner is also a required field. Select from the listing of Project Managers identified in PS2010.

If a project owner is not shown, contact the PS2010 Administrator for assistance. The dates identified on the project information screen are used for future reporting purposes. These fields are locked after the Plan phase and editing them after this point will require using MS Project Professional (PPro) in the Project Information dialogue. If the Quote Schedule check box is selected, a Q will be added following the project number and the project will be flagged once saved to PS2010 as a quote schedule. Deselecting this check box will remove the Q from the project number (this function is allowed until the project is saved to PS2010; after saving to PS2010, the Project Details screen can be used to remove this flag and the Q from the project name and number if desired).

All other fields on this dialogue are not required to generate the project. However, they become required later in the workflow within PS2010.

When the Wizard generates the WBS, all tasks will be sorted by Task Discipline, Phase, Task Activity Type and Mechanical Segment Number, Control Segment Number then the order the tasks were listed in the associated source template.

Segment templates that have been prepopulated with Segment Name, Mech Seg Nbr, Ctrl Seg Nbr and/or Ctrl Cab will also prepopulate this screen.

When filling in numeric fields, completely over-write all numbers in the field to change a value. Leaving the cursor in front of or after existing entries will allow leading or trailing values.
