We visited big bazaar on Friday that is 30.10.2012. From there we got lot of information about internal working of big bazaar. Big Bazaar is a chain of hypermarket in India. As of June 2, 2012 there are 214 stores across 90 cities and towns in India covering around 16 million sq.ft. Of retail space. Big Bazaar is designed as an agglomeration of bazaars or Indian markets with clusters offering a wide range of merchandise including fashion and apparels, food products, general merchandise, furniture, electronics, books, fast food and leisure and entertainment sections. Big Bazaar is part of Future Group, which also owns the Central Hypermarket, Brand Factory, Pantaloons, eZONE, Hometown, futurebazaar.com, KB's Fair Price to name a few and is owned through a wholly owned subsidiary of Pantaloon Retail India Ltd, that is listed on Indian stock exchanges. There are fist one to introduce new ideas such as Wednesday bazaar, sabse sasta din, maha bachat and the great exchange offer. Organizational chat consists of first store manager then assistant store manager. After that department manager assistant DM then team leader. Big bazaar deal in all type of products such as gold, mobile watches, general books, office stationary, auto accessories, crockery, luggage, mens wear etc. they have their brads in every type of products they sell to customers. Their brand are knighthood, denim jeans and cool casuals, shatranj, shyla, srishti, blue and pink, studio NYX and ceete tshirts. In store they have 60% of their product only. Revenue generated from their

own product is 80%. They have re ordering point at 5% of stocks. They also have shop in shop that is they sell some place to outside vendor and charge them some amount. They have 2 conditions that are either provides them with minimum charges or share in profit whichever is higher. They making huge profit out of it because they logistic can take huge profit share but they did these thing in such a way that they are able to achieve bottom line as well as top line of big bazaar. It really a good experience to get to big bazaar and getting experience shared by most experienced employee of organized chain retail store of India.
