LeStar Polishing Film

LeStar is a diamond film for polishing cemented carbides. Hollow spheres of nano-sized diamond particles cover the Mylar surface of the LeStar film, giving long life and a finish comparable to a standard one micron diamond polish. The LeStar film is used with water as a lubricant. The LeStar film will polish dozens of samples before it needs to be replaced. The exact number of specimen holders polished will depend uponamong other thingsthe hardness of the steel samples, the speed of the polishing wheel and head, the flow of water on the wheel, the quality of the ground surface, and the downward force applied to the specimen holder. As the LeStar film wears, it is normal to see "worn areas". The polishing film is by no means worn-out when these spots appear. In fact, the film may polish dozens more specimen holders after the appearance of the "worn areas".
