Hi I would like to present to You a mini tutorial, it is one of my projects which i had the pleasure of doing. The idea appeared almost a year ago. I wont get into the details on the whole project and also why or how it evolved, You can read about it on my webpage along with all the images made for the purpose of the project. The tutorial describes the process of making exterior scenes - these are very basic informations which should help You create an image very fast, on a basic level.

MODELOWANIE. Model zosta wykonany w caoci w 3dmax2009. Za pomocom bardzo podstawowego narzdzia, jakim jest editpoly. Jaki kolwiek model budynku, z jakim ma do czynienia, staram si by kada jego krawd bya za okrglona w miar moliwoci na ile model nam na to pozwala. Daje mi to podczas owietlania jak i nadawania materiaw, bardzo naturalne przejcie paszczyzn midzy sob, oczywicie nie ma sensu zaokrgla cay model, jeeli wiem, e bdziemy go pokazywa tylko z konkretnej strony..

MODELLING The whole model has been created in 3dmax3009 using a very basic tool, which is the edit poly. Whenever I'm modelling a building, i try to make every single edge chamfered. That gives us very natural passess between the surfaces during lightning and assigning materials. There is of course no sense in chamfering the whole model if you know that you will show it from a speci c angle.

MATERIAY W scenie wystpuj bardzo maa ilo materiaw, ktre szczegowo pokazaem na zawartych obrazach, w celu objanienia ich waciwoci. Wszystkie zostay wykonane w V-ray 2.02. Tynk Betonowa ciana Ramy stalowe ( wystpuj na dachu) Szko Posadzka kamienna Posadzka betonowa Plama na posadzce betonowej Licie Woda Zacieki na tynku Wszystkie tekstury ktre uyem, w tym projekcie miay wielkoci od 2500pix. Do 8000pix. W zalenoci od tego jak blisko znajdowaa si kamera od obiektu, ktry by texturowany. Kady materia jak i tekstura, dla kadego ujci by regulowany w zalenoci od padania konta wiata i efektu, jaki chciaem uzyska, Dlatego materiay, jakie pokazaem, s ustawieniami mocno wstpnymi i dotycz konkretnej sceny, wiata, i obrbki, jakiej potrzebowaem dokona w PS.

MATERIALS The scene contains a very limited selection of materials. All of them are presented on the images to show their properities. Every one has been done in V-Ray 2.02 Plaster Concrete wall Steel Frames (appearing on the roof ) Glass Stone oor Concrete oor Stain on the concrete oor Leaves Water Stains on the plaster All the textures used in the scene had the size from 2500pix to 8000 pix depending on how close the camera was to the textured object. Every material and texture has been tuned depending on the angle of falling light as well as the e ect i was trying to achieve. Because of that the materials which i have shown are pretty much ........... and relate to a speci c scene, light and postproduction which i had to do in Photoshop.

WIATO/RENDERING Scena zostaa przeliczona na nowym silniku V-Ray 2.02 Ktry wsppracuje z bardzo ciekawym plaginem, jakim jest SolidRocks?0.98. Bardzo zachca do zapoznania si jak i kupienia , poniewa jest w bardzo atrakcyjnej cenie i zapewni nam oszczdno czasu, ktry jest przecie dla nas wszystkich bardzo cenny. Sceny, zewntrzne zostay owietlone za pomocom vraydome light z wewntrznym plikiem EXR. spitym ze wiatem vraysun. Sposb owietlenia wyjani jeden z moich ulubionych wielkich i bardzo innowacyjnych artystw Peter Guthrie. Bardzo zachcam do zapoznania si z jego technik, tym samym do kupienia plikw EXR. Jakie artysta Peter G. nam oferuje, naprawd s niesamowite!!! I prosz tego nie odbiera, jako reklamy.. Technika jest bardzo prosta i daje nam nie nagan wiato a co waniejsze ogromn dowolno rozwijania techniki, ale wymaga dokadnego zrozumienia- przetestowania wszelkich zalenoci zwizanych z owietleniem typu EXR. Poniewa ta technika bardzo nie lubi bdw zwaszcza, jeli bardzo duo kombinujemy z gam 2.2 I robieniem kadrw pod wiato. Gotowe obrazy, zostay tak przygotowane i tak owietlone by po ukoczeniu renderingu uzyska bardzo blady kolor..poniewa obraz Prost z 3dmaxa. Traktuje jako 40-60% gotowy produkt.. Blady kolor zapewnia mi uzyskanie penej kontroli nad kadym kolorem i nateniem wiata.. Czsto pytaj mnie, jak technika wykonuje obrazy, LWF czy inna? Technika, jakiej uywam w Ps. nie potra jej konkretnie nazwa, i sprecyzowa.. Czy to jest LWF czy nie, okreli konkretne zasady, przecie kady obraz, scena projekt jest inny.. Najwaniejszy efekt jest dla mnie to efekt Kocowy i na tym si zawsze skupiam. Staram si czy wszystkie techniki w sposb mieszania ich i nie trzymania si sztywno okrelonej zasady, Wane dla mnie jest by praca-obraz, zawsze byy w pewnym stopniu wie i nie powielay schematw innych artystw, ktrzy sobie wypracowali cik prac. .. osobicie uwaam e najwiksza porak ponosi artysta w momencie , kiedy patrzymy na jego prace/dzieo i mylimy o zupenie innym artycie.. rdo jest zawsze jedno , a pochodne to tylko i a , rzemielnicza cika praca.. Sama obrbka w Ps., Jak wykonuj dla mych obrazw, polega na mieszaniu wielu naprawd wielu warstw. I manipulacji krzywymi, balansem bieli itp. Bardzo zachcam do eksperymentowania i nie trzymania si sztywno technik, o jakich moemy wyczyta w sieci, informacje, ktre czytam zawsze staram si traktowa, jako punk zaczepienia dla konkretnego problemu, a nie, jako recept gotowa na adny obraz, nie starajmy si naladowa czyj technik, tylko rozwijamy swoje wasne by nie powiela pochodnych prac.. To tyle w tym mini. Tutorialu. Mama nadzieje, e chocia troch przybliyem wam mj sposb pracy, i odpowiedziaem na jakie pytanie was nurtujce. Dziki za powiecony czas, jeli dotrwae do koca tego artykuu.

LIGHTNING/RENDERING The scene has been rendered using the new V-Ray 2.02 engiene which is compatibile with a very interesting plugin - SolidRocks?0.98. I encourage you to check and buy it beacuse it has a very attractive price and it will save you alot of time, which of course is very valuable to us all. The outdoor scenes had been lightned by the vraydome light with an internal EXR le connected with the vraysun light. The lightning method has been explained to me by one of my favourite and a very innovative artist - Peter Guthrie. I encourage You to get familliar with his technique and to buy the EXR les which the artist o ers us. they are really amazing!!! please do not take it as advertising. The technique is very simple and gives us a really nice light and what is more important a huge exibility of expanding the technique but requires a precise understanding/testing a variety of dependences linked with the EXR type lightning. Because this technique doesnt like any errors, especially if we tweak the gamma 2.2 to much or setting frames depending on the light. The nished images have been prepared and lighted in a way that will result in very pale colours after nishing the render. That is because i treat images straight from 3dmax as about 40-60% of the nished product. Pale colours assure that i get full control over every colour and light intensity. I get asked alot which technique i use to create an image, LWF or other ? The technique i use in PS - i cannot really name it, if it is LWF or not. I cannot specify the principles and rules because every image, every scene or project is di rent. The most important e ect is the nished picture and that is what i always concentrate on. I try to use and mix all techniques and not to limit myself to one speci c set of rules. The important thing is that the image/work should always be fresh, original and not mimic the schemes of other artists, whom got there thanks to their hard work. Personally i think that artists fail the most when we look at his work and think of a di rent artist. The source is always the same but the derivatives are just hard craftsmanship work. The photoshop post production which i do for my images involves mixing alot of layers and manipulating the curves, white balance etc. I strongly encourage You to experiment and not to stick to any techniques which we can read about on the internet. The informations which i always read i try to treat as a starting point for a speci c problem and not as a recepie for a nished, good looking image. Do not try to mimic someones technique but develop our own not to copy other works. That concludes our mini tutorial.
