Modified Lesson Plan (FIELD I).

A. Theme: Identity and Greetings. B. Objectives: 1. Learners will be able to interpret Spanish greetings. 2. Learners will be able to recognize the Spanish alphabet. 3. Learners will be able to distinguish Spanish greetings from American greetings. 4. Learners will be able to describe their origin. 5. Learners will be able to recognize the days of the week and the numbers. C. Vocabulary: 1. Greetings/Alphabet/Days of the week/Numbers D. Standards Addressed: Communications (1.1 Interpersonal 1.2 Interpretive 1.3 Presentational) Culture (2.1 Practices and perspectives) Comparisons (4.1 Language) E. Learners: need visuals and slow repetitions of vocabulary. F. Materials: Ppt. presentation

Assessment.
1.1 Students will engage in conversations with the teacher and other students. 1.2 Students will interpret what the teacher is saying. 1.3 Students will introduce themselves to the class. 2.1 Students will demonstrate an understanding about the way people greet each, say their origin and pronounce the alphabet and numbers in Spanish speaking countries. 4.1 Students demonstrate understanding of the language by comparing Spanish identity, greetings, numbers and alphabet to their language.

Plan Learning Experiences.


A. Setting the stage: I will upload a Ppt. presentation with objectives for the day. B. Providing Input/Engaging Learners: I will present a Ppt. with Spanish greetings. I will ask students for their names and last names. I will present the next slide with descriptions of origins and ask students where they are from. The next slide I will present the Spanish alphabet and ask students to repeat after me. I will continue with a slide showing the days of the week and numbers 1-30. I will ask some students what days is today and tomorrow.

C. Guided Participation: Students will answer questions about their origin and greetings. D. Extension: Students will work in pairs and engage in a conversation where they greet each other and say where they are from. E. Informal assessment: Students will tell the class a basic greeting, their names and last names and also their origin. F. Closure: I will ask students to tell me two things they learned today and to study the subject pronouns for next class.
