ARCHMERE SENIOR EARNS TOP SCORE ON AP EXAM (Claymont, DE) November 15, 2013: Archmere Academy senior Brian Zhang was one of only 19 students in the world to earn a perfect score on the Advanced Placement Computer Science A Exam, given this past spring. Brian earned every possibly point on the exam, answering every multiple-choice questions correctly and earning the maximum scores on each of the essays in the freeresponse section of the exam. In total, 31,167 students worldwide sat for the AP Computer Science A Exam in 2013. Brian attributes part of his success on the exam to the instruction he received from his teacher, Mr. Jared Campbell. "I really have to thank Mr. Campbell for how well he prepped us for the exam, says Brian. I'm really happy to be able to have him as a teacher and mentor, and I hope that what I learned will help me in the future. "I have two goals in teaching AP Computer Science: rst, to engage students and inspire them to explore computer science after high school; and second, to have students leave the class as well educated in computer science as possible, says Mr. Campbell. With Brian's accomplishment, I know I have met the second goal. I feel proud to have taught a student who reached such a level of distinction." Archmere Academy currently o!ers 19 AP o!erings, with more that 170 students participating in the AP program. Archmeres AP program denes and sets the bar for our schools academic vision and excellence, says Archmere Principal, John Jordan 80.
