The Battle of the Somme begins in July 1, 1916.

The U.S. joins the World War on the sixth of April 1917 against the German side.

During the Battle of the Somme, tanks are first introduced into battle.

First use of Chemical weapons was in World War 1 in 1914 with tear gas. The start of the First World War was in 28 July 1914 and was the first Global war. Trench Warfare begins which stopped the old tactics of war from working and made the stalemate.

Germany signs the treaty of Versailles and officially ends WWI in June 28, 1919.
