LL/AD Enterprises, LLC is presenting this paper to describe the business plan for implementing a course on information and computer literacy educating faculties at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD) on Creative Commons. This course will be designed for the educator to learn how to place a copyright permission on their personal creative work. The learner will use previous knowledge and experiences and build on that with the new information provided. This will allow them to produce documents that have some form of copyright protection associated with them. With the increase of digital technology across the world, there is a need to share ones work. Using Creative Commons is free and easy resource to use for any aspect of ones course documents no matter if they are lectures, pictures or video presentations. LL/AD Enterprises, LLC has thoroughly reviewed the UMSOD policy with the digital repository. The faculty has the right to disseminate the publication through the U of Ms web server. This is an open access/public domain site and the author/user must cite the source in which the initial publication was located. Purpose of the Learning Module: The University of Maryland currently uses a Digital Archive website within the main website and UMSOD has a link as well. At this time, lectures and videos are not located there

By using Creative Commons, faculty, staff and students will have open access to educational course materials, with less restrictive copyright laws, allowing a broader participation in global education (Open Educational Resources (OER)). LL/AD Enterprises, LLC will list pros and cons of this licensing service for faculty use. Pros of Using Creative Commons (CC) with in UMSOD: 1. Different Languages: Utilizing CC licenses allow educators to increase the access to their own publications, lectures and video productions because this licensing company has the ability to translate works or data into ten different languages. Such translation can facilitate world-wide reputation within your specialized discipline, thus making a name for yourself. 2. ShareAlike: CC licenses support the concept that when one distributes, performs or wants to makes any changes to your publications-they must get your permission first. 3. Six different types of CC licenses are available for use. Cons of Using Creative Commons (CC) with in UMSOD: 1. The maker of the course must decide in advance that he/she is willing to give permission to allow open access in the public domain.

Following is an analysis and critique of each program. Copyright Hub: Analysis: This web imitative is designed to simplify the process of attaining a copyright license. The Hub provides a number of links to help you answer copyright issues relating to your needs. There are 21 members of The Copyright Hub Launch Group (CHLG) who have vastly divergent backgrounds to oversee the design of the Hub. Critique: This is a brand new site to help the OER. Any new business will have its problems and The Hub has been very open with its meeting minutes showing how they are looking at many options to help provide quality guidance to licensee needs. The Hub has secured government funding, suggesting this site to be credible. The critique ends here as the site is not live until summer 2013.

Copyright Crash Crouse: Analysis: This course is licensed under CC! The design of this course is clear and concise. It is divided into four main topics with easily accessible links within each of the four topics. The explanations under each topic are written on a level of understanding that an advanced degree in not needed. This course supplies digital resources to help expand OER and protect the creator of the publication. Critique: This course has been in existence since 2001 and updated in 2007. The links are all active and direct the user directly to the website of interest. There appear to be no costs associated with this web course. The information supplied on the site is extremely useful and self guiding however more vibrant colors would keep ones eye in this site longer. Conclusion: LL/AD Enterprises, LLC recommend the use of Creative Common course for UMSOD faculty as it has incredible support and clearly delineates the exact copyright licensing needed for each aspect of courses materials prepared by faculty.
