Using a sketch book and various methods of gathering information, draw, sketch, photograph, take videos, rubbings, collect artefacts whilst on your journey. Take note of what you see and feel whilst on this journey, try and draw what you are feeling. Research two designers work that represent or relate to your journey. ARCHITECUTRE: research the site and take note of sun direction, wind tunnels, placement of building. Sketch this area, take photographs, videos, that you can later upload and use in your assignment. Create a pattern design from your explorative gatherings Begin to generate ideas from one specific part of your journey, in regards to your chosen field.

2. Design Refinement; ARCHITECTURE

From your explorative ideas from your journey, produce quick thumbnail sketches showing different exterior deigns you may possible use. Experiment with paper architecture to try different interior designs and abstract shapes. [photograph documentation] From these sketches begin to explore and define a better exterior design which is pushing your initial idea derived from your journey further. Develop plan layouts you could explore for your design. (Freehand Bubble Diagrams) Think about light source, movement, space in building, also the type of furniture that would need to be in a space like this [bathrooms, laundry kitchen bench]. (freehand explorative sketching). Dont forget about page layout. Include the human figure (hands / head) to show the scale and ergonomics of the building. (Thinking Sketches). Your technical sketches should explore the inside/exterior of the building showing what is inside and outside and the detail of parts, i.e how to doors open, window open, sun shades. (show a section sketch, exploded movement sketch, production) Produce your final rendered presentation sketch that shows clear links to your journey/experience and site analysis, it must also meet your brief and specifications.(show shadows/light source and present with good layout skills) You should be continuously showing and including research throughout your process, looking into the construction of the building structure, types of door and window frames, detail aspects to your design, types of fixtures. This should be annotated and linked into your designing throughout the process.

3. Research

4. Final Solutions
Produce detailed instrumental perspective projection drawings to convey and communicate your final solutions. For example: 1 point interior perspective - show interior layout 2 point exterior projection show exterior view and landscape design Include rendering and architectural conventions.

5. Extension
Further develop your design by looking into Landscape design and incorporate this into your plan, presentation sketch and perspective projection instrumental drawing.

(freehand)Link your ideas back to aspects of your gathered information from your journey. From these sketches begin to explore the shape and form in more depth and add some detail, in regards to how to turn it on, the shadow of light. (freehand explorative sketching). Dont forget about page layout. Include the human figure (body) to show the functions of the product. Begin thinking about the details of one of your explorative sketches, how does it work, move. Take into consideration ergonomics, user-friendly, fitness for purpose, aesthetic. Push your idea further and explore with purpose in mind (Thinking Sketches). Your technical sketches should explore how the product is constructed. (show a section sketch, exploded movement sketch, production) Show how your product can be used within a space Produce your final rendered presentation sketch that shows clear links to your journey/experience and meets your brief and specifications.(show shadows/light source and present with good layout skills) You should be continuously showing and including research throughout your process, looking into the construction of the building structure, types of door and window frames, detail aspects to your design, types of fixtures. This should be annotated and linked into your designing throughout the process.

4. Final Solutions
Draw your final design as 2ptor 1pt perspective Produce a Multiview Orthographic Projection Instrumental Drawing of the product showing 3-4 views [Plan, Front Elevation, End Elevation, Section] applying appropriate drawing standards and conventions. For example, construction lines, line weight, line thickness, scale, dimension. Include rendering and architectural conventions.
