Part 1 : Research 1. A ROV is a machine that allows anybody to be able to explore the deep oceans.

ROV stands for Remotely Operated Vehicle. It allows people to see the ocean floor and deep oceans with great film.

2.

Infrared technology is electromagnetic radiation that has longer wavelengths than visible light. The light is absorbed by molecules when they change their vibrational movements. The light obtains vibrational modes, making it a useful frequency for

study of molecules.

3.

Sonar Technology is something we use under water for communication or detecting with objects or other vessels.

4.

A pressure sensor is a sensor that measures pressure, usually liquids or gases. It stops fluid from getting bigger

5.

Photo sensors or photo detector are senses of light or other electromagnetic energy. They use a passive system that detect infrared.

6.

A depth detector monitors depth of the ocean. Some have a Red Green Blue camera, some dont. they need an IR camera and an IR projector. They show dots of the actual thing.

7.

Robotic arms are mechanical arm, using programmable with similar functions of a human arm. They are used to do anything like welding,

etc.

8.

Underwater cameras are basically the same as normal cameras, just work underwater. They work by scuba divers and/or long poles used by someone on shore.

History of the Mermaid : a. They are found in Kiryat yam isreal and Iceland, in the deep oceans. In Kiryat, the government put up a reword to whoever gets proof of the mermaid that was saw in the ocean. b. They are able to breath under water, so like fish, they must have gills giving them the characteristic to survive under water. c. Mermaids are known to be immortal, and have the trait to hypnotize! Which allows them to not be seen. d. Mermaids are very unique. They are half fish, half human, making them a very beautiful creature.

10. Archimedes Principle : indicates the upward force of buoyant force that is exerted on a body. 11. Boyles Law: experimental gas law that shows that the pressure of gas tends to decrease when the volume of gas increases. 12. Buoyancy: to be able to float on water. 13. Buoyancy Force: a fluid that opposes the weight of an immersed object. 14. Density: degree of compactness of a substance 15. Displacement: occupation by a submerged body or part of a body of a volume that would otherwise be occupied by a fluid. 16. Equilibrium: a state in which opposing or influences are balanced. 17. Fluid: a substance that has no fixed shape and yields easily to external pressure, a gas or a liquid. 18. Force: strength or energy as attribute of physical action or movement. 19. Gravity: the force the attracts a body toward the center of the earth, or towards any physical body having mass 20. Mass: a coherent, typically large body of matter with no define shape 21. Neutral Buoyancy: a condition in which a physical bodys average density is equal to the density of the fluid in which it is immersed.

22. Pressure: continuous physical force exerted on or against an object by something in contact with it 23. Principles of Floatation: is what makes an object float. 24. Volume: amount of space an object/substance has 25. Weight: the mass of something 26. Tether: a rope or chain with which an animal is tied to restrict its movement. 27. Ploarity: property of having poles or being polar.
