Behavioral/Objective Students will be able to identify the general color scheme within a room as well as dominate, sub dominate, and accent colors. Students will be able to create their own color scheme. Anticipatory Set Review some of the standard color schemes we covered in our color wheel project. Discuss why we might not want fully saturated colors. Objective/Purpose Hopefully, yesterday you started tracing your image of a room in pencil. The next step is to trace it again in your own fine tip sharpie marker, but the whole purpose of this project is to practice creating our own color schemes. So for today, we are going to spend all of our time talking about the different parts of a color scheme and how we are going to apply this knowledge to our projects. State objective Anticipatory Set Discuss the difference between a desaturated color and a saturated color and how to make them. Have students define dominate, sub dominate, and accent colors. Thinking Levels By the end of this lesson, students should be at the Application level. They will be using their knowledge of color schemes to develop their own. Learning Styles and/or Accommodations If some students are able to complete the Independent Practice quickly, they are allowed to work on the extension project. This will include finalizing their color scheme, painting their paint chips, and naming their colors.
