Reaction Paper HIV Entering in any kind of industry would require a lot of sacrifices and of course requirements. From resume, bio-data, transcripts, police clearance, medical examinations result/certificates, and etc. must be complied in order to get a job. Why medical examinations result is part of the requirement? Well, industries or organizations to be specific, would not allow their names to be stained by these kind of issues or anything that could degrade their image must be avoided and/or prevented. Also, what the organizations needed are the productive people and not the sick ones who might be a burden to companies by spending a lot of money for their health insurances and medications. As most of the companies are implying that safety first and that goes down to disciplining ones self, ones health. True to the story in the film, it is hard to get along with others especially that you are being avoided because of your disease. Even though HIV is common nowadays, and its a bad thing, there are individuals who admit that it is tough for them to cope with the social demands and more often degradation. Employees that were diagnosed with HIV should be treated with all the help that they need and not be disregarded. Moreover, applicants who are trying to seek for a job might have less opportunity of finding it since their medical condition would be a great issue in the company and with the people who they will be working with. Human Immunodeficiency Virus or commonly known as HIV is an infectious agent that causes Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). HIV is a kind of disease that leaves a person vulnerable to life-threatening infections. By damaging your immune system, it

interferes with your bodys ability to fight the organisms that cause disease. It is a sexually transmitted infection and can also spread by contact with infected blood, or from mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth or breast-feeding. Theres no cure for HIV/AIDS, but there are medications that can slow down the progression of the disease. This issue is a big challenge for the government, organizations, and to us citizens. Government should provide sex education/safe sex and healthy living programs that should provide awareness and preventive actions to the people. Also, provide health facilities and speedup the work of the research and development sector to provide alternatives and medications with this disease. Meanwhile, organizations should give opportunity and equal chance to those who have HIV and yet are qualify for the job. With the struggles that these HIV victims went through, it is better to help, motivate, and encourage them to fight their disease, promote positivism in life, and most importantly, promote discipline and awareness of the issues in our society so that each one of us will be informed and educated.
