Once planted you will see fruits by the third year you have planted it. The fruit is a dark blue berry and the flower is white with a yellow steam which makes the flower look creamy. This native plant to New Jersey has can grow up to six to ten feet tall and spread as wide as six to ten feet. Arrowwood Viburnum leaves are a dark green except in the fall when they turn a yellow to a reddish purple color.
The white flowers for this shrub bloom in mid-July to August and are extremely fragrant. The fragrance that this plant gives off is a kind of spicy smell. These flowers attract bees and butterflies. Also, this plant has seed capsules that attract many different kinds of birds.
