1General Comments
1.1The Manual
The Service Manual FH 345 for Weighfeeders completes the Operating Manual Fh 344 with additional information on commissioning, calibration, configuration, and parametrization. The manual centers around Chapter 4 Configuration and Chapter 5 Parametrization. The presentation is arranged such that all requisite information is conveyed at a glance with no need for explanatory texts. The general comments at the beginning of each chapter should be read. A survey in each chapter as well as a general key word search list in Annex A facilitate location of desired data.
WEIGHFEEDER
Annex B comprises a list of interfaces complete with all signals to which an interface can be assigned. Settings deviating from the default values can be entered into this list. Chapter 6 contains a list of all event messages with comments. The modes of operation and functions accessible to the operator as well as the relevant procedures are described in Chapter 2 Modes of Operation and Functions. Chapter 3 Calibration and Commissioning conveys information on commissioning and calibration. Section 1.2 gives a general survey of the MULTICONT system.
The MULTICONT system is programmed for the application by software. The specific settings (adaptation to hardware, interface assignment, controller setting) are effected by configuration and parametrization. Access to these functions is protected.

1.3 Overview Weighfeeder
WEIGHFEEDER
The weighfeeder serves for continuous weighing and feeding of bluk solides. The belt load is acquired through a weighbridge located under the conveyor belt. A control loop adjusts feed rate p to a preset setpoint via belt speed v. The weightbridge is limited by two carrying idlers. By means of a centrally positioned weighed idler and a lever system, the load on platform exerts a force, platform load Q, on load cell (L/C). The output voltage of the load cell is proportional to the platform load and is transformed into the digital information through an A/D converter.

1.3.1 Gravimetric / Volumetric Mode
The gravimetric mode of operation is the mode for feeding. Depending on belt load, the feed rate is controlled to the active setpoint via the belt speed with belt load q being determined by the prefeeder. In volumetric mode, the acquired belt load is not used for control purposes. The belt speed is controlled in dependence of the permanently set nominal belt load and the active feed rate setpoint. The volumetric mode is activated > in start-up mode (P 10.03), LG > in clearance mode (P 10.04) > by connection of local mode > by call via function distributor, SE bus, or contact. KMK = =

The duration of check measurement is either determined by the number of belt circuits, or by check quantity. The check system is configured ans parametrized in Block K22 (TYP), Block K23 (EEIN, EAUS), Block K24 (EXTERN) and Block P 20. In addition, an automatic weight check can be activated starting a new check cycle after elapse of a check measurement with subsequent cycle time (P 20.17). Activate automatic acquisition of check result with Parameter P 20.01. In the course of the checking operation, check amount (P20.07/08, K23.10), check fill weight (K23.09/10, P20.09/10) and correction (K23.11 - K23.14, P20.11 P20.14) are monitored for excess of limit values.
CHECK SYSTEM Check system and weighfeeder do TYPE EAUS: not form a mechanical unit. CHECK SYSTEM Check system is not controlled by TYPE EXTERN MULTICONT but externally. The check result consists of the measurement results of both feeders for the material amount actully fed. As static weighing is much more accurate than the dynamic weighing, it is taken for correct. The correction value is computed from the difference, or ratio, of both quantities. Zero point correction compensates additive errors caused, for instance, by material deposits on weighing platform. Span correction servers for compensation of multiplying errors. Span corrections are principally required after commissioning, zero point corrections during operation as well.

1.3.3 Batching Mode
Start check measurement with preset check setpoint aiming at - zero point correction - span correction.
Prefeeder is cut off (K21.07), feedback signal and stabilization time elapse.
In batching mode the discharge unit is automatically cut off after discharge of the set amount. A) Start of batch with set amount and set feed rate.
Wait for blind distance LB to elapse. B) Pre-contact residual amount is reached, set feed rate is limited to pre-contact set feed rate (creep mode with constant setpoint). Main contact residual amount is reached. Feed unit is cut off. Clearance mode, if preselected, becomes active when main contact resedual amount is reached. Drive cuts of after elapse of set time. When feed unit is in no-motion, the set amount has been discharged.
C)
D)
Result is evaluated.
Enter pre-act contact residual amount , pre-act contact set feed rate and main contact residual amount as parameters. Main contacts is self-optimizing, i.e., after a batch is terminated the difference between batch setpoint and actually fed batch is acquired and, if deviation is too high, main contact residual amount is calculated anew.

3 Commissioning and Calibration
This chapter all operations for commissioning or calibration of a weighfeeder which are to be performed at the Multicont measuring and control system. For details of the individual operator steps such as, for instance, marginal conditions of set-up programs, see relevant items of Chapter 3. Calibration is largely theoretical; form entered characteristic values (Block P 01, P 02), device constant and nominal belt load are calculated. The norminal best load serves as reference value for display and limit values. All calibrating operations are effected by set-up program.

4 Configuration
4.1 General Comments
The MULTICONT system is adapted to users requirements by configuration. From the scope of available functions only those assemblies and functions required for the application are activated. Analog inputs and outputs are assigned to logical signals and data. The event messages are classified. Entry is via function Configuration (s. 2.4.2). The values for source type, source, and event class can be selected from the admissible range by cursor operation. The system is factory-configured in accordance with the specification. Modifications should exclusively be effected by persons with comprehensive system knowledge. Section 4.2 Survey comprises a list of configuration blocks complete with available signals and functions which enables prompt survey and facilitates the location of individual data. In Section 4.3 Index, all configuration data including default values and setting ranges are listed. The representation corresponds to the display of a machine control station; additional symbols and block names largely reduce the need for explanatory texts.
WEIGHFEEDER
As form of representation a bordered three-line block has been selected. The first line contains the name and (with inputs and outputs) a symbol. The indications in lines 2 and 3 correspond to the display in the setpoint field and in the input/output field of a machine control station. If the lines are dashed, no entry is possible.
Range: Settable source types / Event classes Reference: To parameters To event messages Note: The note completes representation by additional information.
Together with symbol, source type and event message, the name of the signal describes the function. This name is used in the alphabetic search list. The symbols beside the names refer to the source type.

The event class defines the type of event message (see Chapter 6) assigned to the signal. The following message types are available: A W1 W2 IG ALARM WARNING 1 WARNING 2 IGNORE
WEIGHFEEDER
The range indicates the eligible source types, or event classes. If DE (NE) may be chosen as source type, the permissible logical states are indicated with YES/NO .
Range: DE (NE)/SE YES / NO A/W1 See: P 00.00 beispiel E 00 Example Note: To signal Example K 00.00 BSP, a digital input (N/O contact) is assigned as source type. As source, digital input 1 of input/output unit 2 is determined. A missing signal is reported as ALARM. As an alternative, source type SE bus and event class Warning 1 can be assigned to the signal. As sources, all active assemblies with digital inputs, or interfaces, can be configured via SE bus. To source type DE (NE) solely logical state NO can be assigned. If no source is assigned to the signal, -.NO has to be configurated as source, otherwise event message Example would be permanently available.

5 Parametrization
5.1 Parameter Designation
Parameters complete configuration and serve for total system definition. All rated data, calibration and evaluation data as well as controller settings, limit values, and standard interfaces are entered as parameters. All functions required for parameter setting can be accessed via the function distributor. The operating functions are described in Chapter 2 Functions and Operating Modes. For rated data, calibration and evaluation data, see relevant data sheets. Section 5.2 Survey comprises a list of all parameter blocks which enables instantaneous survey and facilitates location of individual parameters. In Section 5.3 Index, all parameter blocks including default values and eligible settings are listed. The parameter units can be converted from the international (SI) to the American system of units by configuration (K 00.11 Nonsi). Conversion Intl. Units => American Units g kg t => => => oz lb t inch f 1 oz 1 lb 1t 1 inch 1f = 28.3703 g = 0.4535925 kg = 2000 lb = 25.4 mm = 0.3048 m

The representation in Section 5.3 follows the display of a machine control station. All parameters are represented in a bordered three-line block. The first line contains the parameter name. The indications in lines 2 and 3 correspond to the display in the setpoint field and the input/output field of a machine control station.
Name Number Value Range (Setting range, value can be continuously changed.) 0 / 1 / 2 (Setting range, select from values displayed, select by cursor operation) Reference: To configuration, see Chapter 4. To event messages, see Chapter 6. The note completes representation by additional information. A...Z Symbol
Note:
The parameter name refers to the function and serves as keyword in the alphabetic search list. The parameter number is composed of block number, position of parameter within the block and the letter P. This number serves for identification and is shown in the setpoint field together with the symbol. The symbol as such serves for identification of parameter on display. The value shows the current parameter setting. The index comprises the default values of the standard version. They can be loaded any time with sub-function Load Init. Par.. Deviating values are marked on display by a * at the beginning of the line.

6.1 General Comments
The MULTICONT system monitors the hardware, as well as the signals and parameters decisive for operating safety, feeding operation and feeder functions. Malfunctions or deviations from setpoints are reported as events. To each event a class and thus a reaction are assigned per configuration. There are four event classes with the following reactions: ALARM Warning 1 Warning 2 IGNORE Stop feeder, Display W1, Display W2, Suppress display.
WEIGHFEEDER
For identification on display at control station and for data exchange each message has a code resulting from group index and number of position within the group.
6.1.1 Display
The event messages are displayed in the event field as follows: ALARM W1 W2 underlined and flashing, underlined and permanent, permanent.
If several events occur at the same time, the following ranking applies: ALARM before W1 before W2. Within an event class in accordance with respective group as per group sequence in the event list. Within a group as per position number. Displays of classes Alarm and W1" require to be acknowledged. Display as W2 event follows, however, with the correct status being internally maintained. After remedy of cause display effaces. Displays of class W2 must not be acknowledged. They disappear after remedy of cause. The acknowledgement has a general effect on all event messages available at the same time. After start of feeder, all event messages which would occur in actual operation are suppressed during start-up phase. In Local Mode, any avaible controller fault is reset.
The event messages are assembled in groups so as to facilitate troubleshooting.
