Archangel (Dead Nettle)

Lamium atropurpureum
Family: Lamiaceae
Annual. Native to Europe and the Mediterranean. The plant does will in borders as a
low-lying bedding plant especially noteworthy since it blooms handsomely early in
the spring. The blossoms are arranged in whorls -- purple with purple-tinged scaled
calyces. The !lowers are used medicinally pluc"ed individually and made into tea.
The tea is cooled then used as a douche !or treating vaginal bacterial in!ections or
candidiasis. Cultivation: Easy. #ow in !all or very early spring directly into
