The Americas: Mayan Civilization.


The Mayan civilization was an advanced, creative, and
ground breaking civilization. They are a great example of a
strong and developed civilization. Their economy, religion,
architecture, and one of their greatest and most precise clock
and calendar references. This community became a civilization
they have gone through the process of becoming advanced. We
can learn form them because we can take their mistakes and then
try as peoples to make the same ones.




In the picture above it shows that the Mayan civilization
is located in Central America, which is, know known as
Guatemala, Southern Mexico Honduras and San Salvador. They
used their resources very wisely they were much like the Greek
civilization in the sense that they were a thriving civilization,
they went from the bottom to the top. In this local history I
found that nobody know where and when the Mayans came
from, is is still a mystery to this day. They learned how to
construct a community everybody has a job even though there
probably some in equalities.

The Maya are a native Mesoamerican people who developed one
of
most sophisticated cultures in the Western Hemisphere before the
arrival of the Spanish. Mayan religion was characterized by the
worship of nature gods (especially the gods of sun, rain and corn),
a priestly class, the importance of astronomy and astrology,
rituals of human sacrifice, and the building of elaborate

beliefs morals and society. Their Economy was very structured
There was a city that ruled the rule areas I think that their
economy was much like the one of the ancient Greek civilization,
because both civilizations came up with their own beliefs and
how they world run their world like a government, or king,
both civilizations took their first baby steps to become an adult.

The Mayans built the temples for sacred ceremonies such as
sacrifices. They built them very strong it is very fascinating to
know how they built it how did they come up with the
blueprints and technology, to create it. Maya architects built
structures which have withstood centuries of abuse. Mighty
temples and palaces at places like Palenque, Tikal and Chichen
Itza survived centuries of abandonment, followed by excavation
and now thousands of tourists walking and climbing all over

One of the most awesome and intreging inventions of all
time was their clock and calendar system they used it to tell
the time and it is exact. To invent and to want to create is a
quality that only a few people have. They learned and had the
ingenuity to invent and progress we still use clocks today and I
have no idea what life would be like with out them.

Overall the Mayans helped s a lot we can learn from them
not only and put their economy. I think that they made a lot of
advancements in modern everything. People say that the Greeks
were the oldest society, but we really dont know that is true and
I think that we should try to find more about them.
