The above image of the word Honolulu is a 400% zoomed image of a small

region of a full-size JPEG image that I extracted from the ABC news PDF file
ap_obama_certificate_dm_110427.pdf. This JPEG image should be identical to
the 1.02 MB AP JPEG image AP11042717913".
The page dimensions of the extracted JPEG are:
W = 2698 px = 13.49 in. @ 200 PPI
H = 3234 px = 16.17 in. @ 200 PPI
These dimensions are identical to the page dimensions of the PDF page.
There are barely perceptible halos surrounding each text character. The halos are
not pure White but have the appearance of faint color fringes. Possibly there were
color fringes which have been partially removed.
The image has an overall foggy appearance.
The image of the word Honolulu (immediately above) is a 1000% zoomed
image of a small region of the JPEG image that I created by scaling and
downsampling the full-size JPEG image that was extracted from the ABC PDF file
ap_obama_certificate_dm_110427.pdf. The page size of the ABC PDF image
was reduced as was the pixel resolution of the image. The page dimensions of the
scaled and downsampled JPEG image are:
W = 1043 px = 8.692 in. @ 120 PPI
H = 1243 px = 10.358 in. @ 120 PPI
These page dimensions are close to the page dimensions of the Muscatine Journal
PDF image 4db82608b486f.pdf. The pixel resolution of the downsampled
image is the same as the Muscatine image.
There are distinct White halos surrounding each text character. The halos are not
entirely pure White but there are many pure White pixels within the halos.
The image has an overall crisp appearance.
