for Bodily/Kinesthetic Students


Objective: Students will create a presentation that demonstrates their knowledge of
proper punctuation and capitalization.
Standards:

1.1.6 Use knowledge of the basic rules of punctuation and capitalization when writing.
Technology:

Materials:
iPads (class set)
iMovie app by Apple installed on iPads
Internet access to view The Electric Companys video at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIk4BXGDpwM#t=77
Overhead projector
IEP goal tracking chart
Preparations:
iPads must be charged
iMovie app must be downloaded
IEP goal tracker
Instructional Directions:
Teacher will dismiss groups to get their iPads (one per student)
Teacher will show The Electric Companys Youtube video available at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIk4BXGDpwM#t=77
Students will use iMovie to create a skit/video inspired by The Electric Companys
video and demonstrate their knowledge of proper capitalization and punctuation
Teacher will choose students to share their videos with the class by connecting their
iPads to the projector
Teacher will use a goal tracking chart to record progress on each students ability
towards meeting this IEP goal

Objective: Students will utilize the Magic Capitals game to learn about and practice
using proper punctuation and capitalization.

Instructional Directions:
Teacher will dismiss groups to the class computers
Students will use the internet browser to go to the Magic Capital Games at
http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/grammar/capitalization.htm
Students will play the Magic Capitals Game
Teacher will walk around observing the students progress and use a goal tracking
chart to record this progress on each students ability towards meeting this IEP goal
