When I was an elementary student, whenever I watched Finding Nemo, I am
always concentrated on the adventure e!erienced by Marlin, Nemo"s #ather, and Dory
$ust to #ind Nemo. I never cared about the %&' which the turtle had been saying to the
!rotagonists, because I didn"t know about it. It was same thing with Mr. Ray"s song about
the (ones and the s!ecies o# the ocean. It was because, all this time, I never noticed the
song until )ro#. )ante told us.
I was laughing, and at the same time, shocked, when I saw the !art o# the movie
where in Mr. Ray sang the song. Wow* +he song was so scienti#ic that i# you didn"t
know anything about the (ones and the s!ecies o# the ocean, you will get ,emorrhage* I
really liked it*
Mr. Ray* ,ow did you get to know all o# this?
Finding Nemo was not $ust about the lost but then yet #ound clown#ish. It was also
about currents, (ones, s!ecies #ound in the ocean. +he movie used -cience to make the
movie. For eam!le, without the %&', Dory and the Marlin would never meet 'rush, the
sea turtle who also hel!ed them to #ind their way to -ydney.
.ecause o# the video, my im!ression about Finding Nemo changed. From $ust a
ty!ical adventurous movie, I could say that Finding Nemo was an adventurous and a very
educational movie which could be watched, not $ust by the whole #amily, but by students
who are taking u! Marine -cience and also by marine biologists.
%ven i# the young ones would never be able to understand much more o# the
terms used in Finding Nemo, at least, they would get to know a background about
currents, s!ecies, and (ones o# the ocean. With this movie, terms about the ocean would
be no longer unknown to them when they get to discuss about these in school. &lso,
Finding Nemo would hel! them visuali(e more about the ocean. &nd, also, there would
be a big !ossibility that they would en$oy marine science in the #uture, i# they en$oyed
Finding Nemo so much.
