Description: This course is for business students. Major topics include limits, differentiation and integration of algebraic functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, areas and applications of the topics to business problems. Prerequisite: Grade of C or higher in MAC1105. Content: We will study topics from Ch. R-4. Attendance: You are expected to on time and prepared for each meeting. Absence is not an excuse for anything. It is your responsibility to ascertain topics covered during your absence. Calculators: Required, at certain times only a scientific calculator will be allowed. Assignments: Given bi-weekly, available on Angel. Some may be collected as a quiz. Adequate notice will be given. Quizzes: Classroom quizzes once per week, computer quizzes(CQ) completed by published due date. No late CQs accepted. These quizzes will be combined as one exam score. MathXL is required. Exams: Expect three exams and a final. Make-up Exams: These are considered on an individual basis. A valid reason and notification to me within 24 hours is required. A = 90-100 B = 80-89 C = 70-79 D = 60-69 F = 0-59 W = Student withdrawal by Nov. 6. I or WI = C average or better and a substantial reason for not completing. You will receive a grade of zero and/or may be taken before the Academic Review board for possible expulsion from IRSC. Cellphones: The use of cell phones is prohibited during class at IRSC. All cell phones must be set on silent or off during the class period. Any student who uses a cell phone to make or answer a call, or send and read text messages or emails, other than IRSC emergency messages during class time may be asked to leave and may be considered absent for that class. No student has the right to disturb the teaching and learning process.
