Acid phenolic, sn phn gii ca tannin c tc dng c ch men tiu ha, kt qu cui cng lm gim ng k s tiu ha thc n . S lin kt, gii c phenolic vi glycin, acid glucoronic hoc sulfat lm gim tc hi ca phenolic. Nhng tc hi ca tannin C ch tc ng ca tannin trong dinh dng ng vt:
