Learning Plan
My name is George Roy Hanna, I was born in Albuquerque New Mexico in 1995 of
April 13
th
, and I am an Aries fire sign. I grew up moving from Cuba New Mexico, to Grants
New Mexico until I was 14 years old, and I moved to Edmond Oklahoma. I come from a family
of military and law enforcement backgrounds, a family of heros whos acts of valor has made an
impact on my life as well as others. I from a young age embraced the Gothic Discourse
community, and saw them as a family who was very open to new people and welcomed me as
their own. I am a writer, a poet, a musician, a practicing theologian, philosopher, skateboarder,
and criminology major for the University of New Mexico. I am 19 years old, and live on Campus
at the SRC building on the UNM campus exploring my every opportunity in hopes to one day
become successful and one day get married and start a family, and run my own Christian Church.

Where I am in my life and as a writer, is right where I believe I need to be. I am a
published poet and have been published in various online anthologies and won several
competitions. I have written books about my favorite topics that pertain to certain phenomenon
that I find appealing that I spend months researching and start to write a story based on that
research of that particular subject. I am a devout Christian, and follower of Jesus Christ, and I
study the bible daily without falter. I draw a lot of inspiration from parables, and instances in the
bible that helped many become enlightened or motivated after being encouraged and inspired by
the works of Gods word through the bible. As a writer I look at many spectrums of life, and see
the world on a grand scale for everything it is and for everything that it is not. I believe that my

future as a writer is bright, because of my experience as a writer and because I am not afraid to
break barriers, and go that extra mile to make a piece of my work the best it possibly can be.

Where I am heading in the future, is to go to pastoral seminary, and maybe even study
abroad for my theology minor in Rome Italy, to peruse my lifelong dream of studying under the
many great priests, and deacons and cardinals who reside in Rome Italy at the Vatican in Vatican
City. As well, I am heading down a road leading toward a life of selfless service, a life of
humility and respect for my community and through my ambition and hard work, I am devoted
to making my life everything it possibly can be. To help and protect people, to serve on the
streets, and do my part in cleansing the evils that live within our community, to also be a minister
to others who are going through a rough time, even in times of great crisis. To be a man of valor,
and to reject pride and life only to be a man of service. I believe my calling after leaving the
University of New Mexico all resides in my own personal will, and how applicable I make
myself and the right decisions I make along the way.

No matter how long the road may be, whatever life has to throw at me I will be ready to
take on with great confidence and courage. When I first walked into Mrs. Greigos English 111
stretch program class, I was nervous and did not know what to expect, whether or not to expect a
lot of homework, a challenging course load, not making friends with my peers or the teacher. But
at the end of the first day I had made very good friends, that I cannot wait to see again next
semester, and I have made amazing friends with the teacher that has come to help me with so
much, and has believed in me on my path to becoming successful in obtaining my goals and

aspirations. In terms of composition from the writer I was to the writer I have become, I realize
that I am a much broader of a writer capable of working my writings to being very condensed,
easy to understand, and very insightful pieces of work, as well as maintaining my own personal
writing style. I have a better understanding of the writing process, and the proper ways to write a
thesis, and how to respond to a rhetorical situation, and how to create a profile, and portfolio, and
above all how to get to know my own self better through my writings.

I have accomplished so much, such as making a website about my discourse community
in which I come from, writing a profile about someone important to me, and how to not limit my
writings to one particular idea but to broaden my way of thinking and make my writings longer,
and more articulate in terms of creating a well-balanced essay that both addresses the prompt in a
very precise manner, as well as following all the criteria that needs to be met when doing an
assignment. I feel confident now in my abilities to write, type with precision, and maintain focus
on a certain topic without straying away to anything else that does not maintaining its primary
focus to the task at hand. I have grasped a new found respect for myself as a writer and I feel,
and believe that the more I read and write the better I will become. All of the outcomes the
English 111 stretch program required I have followed, and understood to every degree and am
able to demonstrate how to write in a college level format. I believe that I am ready to take on
the next level of the English course 112, to further pursue my writings full potential, and with the
tools I have gathered from English 111 I will carry on with me in English 112 in the fall semester
here at the University of New Mexico.

My goal is to fulfill a purpose, to be happy in whatever it is I do, to obtain that at
whatever means possible. My goal is to see the light at the end of the tunnel, the silver lining at
the end of struggle. To never give up on myself, and become successful so I never have to want
for anything, or struggle in my life just as my parents have struggled to raise me to where I am
now. I intend on getting my bachelors degree in criminology and minor in theology in order to
find my place in the world and become something bigger than myself, to find my place to shine.
I plan to study hard and even through the everyday rigor of college life and learning to balance
priorities, I know I have a better sense of judgment that will help me to make just the right
choices in order to be successful in college. I plan to make my freshman year my platform, my
cornerstone year that will pave the way for me for the rest of my college career, a path that leads
me to scholarships, internships, jobs, and other extra curricular activities that will surely benefit
me in the long run. I know that in order to prove my learning dedication, that it will not be an
easy road But I am ready for anything and I leave no stone unturned, and I believe in turning a
blind eye to nothing. Because when on the path to success, nothing should go left undone.
