Grading (Academic)
Student Effort grades will reflect the students participation in class,
attitude, homework practice, parent signatures, reading logs, tardies,
following outlined class rules and procedures, etc. Any student who
has accumulated 6 unexcused tardies automatically receives a
U.

Grading (Effort)

Students breaking any of the class or school rules will be asked to step
outside the classroom until Mr. Day can talk with them. They will then be
required to fill out the Incident Log, which will be recorded online. They
may also be taken to the office if the infraction is serious. Parents will be
notified of severe or continuing problems. Citizenship will be reduced by 1
point for each serious infraction that requires more than a verbal
reminder.

Expectations
This is my eighteenth year of teaching school from grades seven to
twelve. Having also spent seven years as an engineer I recognize the
importance of learning about technology and how it can and will benefit
our lives. My goal is to help students achieve the highest possible
skills in a short period of time. Parents and/or students with a concern
should contact me immediately. I will do everything in my power to
accommodate the needs of each student, but I cannot resolve
problems if they are not brought to my attention.
I will return phone calls or email before or after school as time
permits. Please check Powerschool weekly to see how your child is
doing. I will send reports home upon request and when required.

Thank you,
Mr. Scott Day
