For under ground pit walls abutting rock, the lateral earth pressure coefficients will be calculated appropriately
giving due consideration to failure wedge formation. In such cases, generally there will not be any lateral
pressures developed. if the back fill behind the pit walls is done with PCC up to rock then no lateral earth
pressures are considered in the design of walls etc

The entire pit including walls and base raft will be modelled in STAAD for structural analysis. The
Counterforts,Tie beams and base raft are idealized using beam elements and soil is represented with linear

If the miscellaneous foundations are resting on filled up soil , the same has to be checked
for filled up bearing pressure
