ABSTRACT

The need for transportation increases day by day. Therefore advanced

system of transportation should be available to meet the demand. Among the
different modes of transportation, railways are most reliable one. With increase in
demand, the need for more efficient system also increased and thus monorails was
introduced more efficient and they almost cover the demerits of other modes. In a
suspended type monorail, the cars are suspended below the rail. Suspended
monorail cars have two axle bogies. Each bogie has four air filled rubber tyres for
travelling and guidance. Auxiliary wheels are also provided for each wheel as a
precaution in case a tyre loses air. The suspension uses air springs.
