My name is Melissa Brown and I am very interested in the Philosophies and

methodologies that Architerra Inc. displays in its firm. My main focus when I design
is to be able to fit the structure into the culture and surrounding environment, while
being sustainable, resusing materials, and reducing the amount of energy and fossil
fuels that the building consumes. Qualities in which your firm possesses with very high
merit and value deeply. I would definitely consider it an honor to have an internship
with such a prestigious firm.

Currently, I am a third year architecture student of a five year master program and a
civil engineer double major in the college of engineering and Archtiecture at North
Dakota State University.

Within my three years I have experience making all sorts of buildings with completely
different circumstances. From a teahouse for the flooded plains of the red river, a dance
studio fitting into an alleyway in downtown Fargo, to a Center of Excellence located
on the NDSU campus for higher education. All of these buildings were designed with a
proposed program, concept, and completed on a deadline. I have learned how to make
beautifully crafted models and draw technically, which I believe is the foundation for
great design, and stimulates creative ideas to flow. I am also, capable of using Revit
2010, Autodesk - eco tect, sketch-up pro, Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator.

My hard work, reliability, and dedication do not just stop with school, I am also
involved in Alpha Gamma Delta sorority where I am the Philanthropy chair, V.P.
recruitment for Panhellenic Council, and a member of American Institute of
Architecture Students.

Strong abilities and great passion for every aspect of design, will make me a great asset
to your firm’s team. I know that Architerra Inc. has high standards and expectations
