STEPS IN CONSTRUCTION SECUENCE FOR BASEMENT FLOORS

Step 1: Boring work for dewatering system (after excavation begin it will be
impossible to do the boring work for the system).
Step 2: Immediately commence the excavation work up to 16ft at periphery and
26ft at center keeping a beam of at least 5ft and cutting slope not steeper than 1:2.
Step 3: Driving of king post and installation of horizontal bracing as shown in &
drawing.
Step 4: Excavation of earth up to desired level (32ft) keeping a beam along the
periphery with a top of minimum 5ft and a side slope not steeper than 1:1 and a
height of 10ft.
Step 5: Casting of raft up to the beam bottom (may be with segments as per site
condition).
Step 6: Development of inclined support to the shore piles from the top of raft as
per drawing in small section on opposite side, removal of beam of that supported
section, casting of raft up to shore pile, removal of inclined support not before three
days of raft casting of that pat. This procedure will continue for whole periphery.
Step 7: Construction of retaining wall, column & shear wall etc including third
basement roof and erection of retaining wall up 12ft horizontal bracing.
Step 8: Development of inclined support to the shore piles from the top of third
basement roof as per drawing in small section on opposite side, removal of
horizontal bracing from that section. This procedure will continue for whole
periphery.
Step 9: Construction of retaining wall, column & shear wall etc. including second
basement roof and extension of retailing wall up to inclined bracing.
Step 10: Removal of inclined backing and the Construction will continue as usual.
It is to be mentioned that the procedure and materials may have to be adjusted as
per prevailing field condition.
