Dear Hiring Committee,

As an aspiring teacher dedicated to the education profession, I am ecstatic to finally be able to apply to the
noble profession of education as a full time teacher. As a dedicated teacher, I believe that I would greatly
add to any positive school climate. It would be an honor to teach and add my high educational standards
and expectations to your school to provide all students with opportunities for growth.

In previous teaching experiences, I have experience working with diverse learners. At Columbus Elementary
School in McMinnville, a Dual Language Immersion School, I taught alongside Melissa Parker in a Fourth
Grade Classroom. At Columbus, I looked deeper into the districts curriculum, attended staff meetings,
worked with colleagues through data team meetings, contributed in conferences regarding IEPs, and
executed a variety of engaging sheltered instructional strategies, which I continue to build upon as I earn
my ESOL endorsement.

Additionally, I taught in the First Grade Classroom at Perrydale Elementary alongside Suzanne Carey.
During this time, I provided effective classroom management and creative lesson plans while fostering
caring relationships with each of my students. My patient, yet firm, and consistent demeanor has allowed
me to be successful in reaching students with varying needs. During my experiences, I have continued to
learn and grow by successfully implementing new ideas that keep students excited about learning. Some of
these ideas that I have applied in my classroom is The Daily Five Literacy Block, CAF, Rigorous
Curriculum Design, and Writers Workshop. After full-time student teaching came to an end, I was quickly
requested to substitute teach by the staff Perrydale and McMinnville School District beginning in January
2014, as well as the Central and Sheridan School Districts.

I am extremely passionate about teaching young children and making a difference in each childs life. I
believe that teaching is about making connections and building positive relationships with my students,
making them feel excited to be at school, and ensuring that students are ready to learn each day. I have
always been eager to learn and now I am beyond excited to share my knowledge and passion for learning in
my very own classroom! With my past experiences, I am fully prepared to become a full-time, elementary
classroom teacher.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Please feel free to contact any of my references and I look
forward to hearing from you soon!

Sincerely,

Olivia C. Dial
